It never was cross platform in the first place, since Rhino itself wasn't. Do you really use bootcamp for music making, or is it more of a rhetorical question ?ttoz wrote:Ok silly question.... do i have to buy 2 separate licenses to use this on the same mac on osx and bootcamp? i.e. the license is no longer cross platform? That sucks if so
Thanks.BTW Rhino has lost none of it's charm.. the demo is giving me smiles all over again

I'd say see it like this: it's still only 140€ then...

Hmmm..... yes, I am indeed in a unique category, see below (just a random sampling of imho comparable synths, no offense intended towards those excellent products):
Zebra.... 147 EUR
Sytrus.... 132 EUR
Absynth... 179 EUR
FM8....... 179 EUR
Albino.... 149 EUR
So maybe, to align with what seems a general pattern here, I should double Rhino's price and offer a cross-platform license ?
Jokes and sarcasm aside, I am willing to hear any thoughts as per why Rhino shouldn't be in the same league than the synths listed above.

Flame you? For what? It's your own personal choice after all - in fact: why should anyone of us care what you spend or don't spend your money on?

No offense towards those excellent products, but one reason I never jumped on the majority of those listed is because I already have Rhino. It wouldn't be such a shame to see you make a little more money from it.Big Tick wrote:Hmmm..... yes, I am indeed in a unique category, see below (just a random sampling of imho comparable synths, no offense intended towards those excellent products):

congratulations on the refocus/recommitment
looking forward to the new offerings
as I've mentioned in the past, I think there'd be a real market for a Big Tick effects pack since your effects section on rhino is excellent
but rhono 3 sounds prety good as well

The only other one I can think of in the same class would be Rapture.Big Tick wrote:Hmmm..... yes, I am indeed in a unique category, see below (just a random sampling of imho comparable synths, no offense intended towards those excellent products):

To get Cubase to see the new version [as well as the last version] I had to rename the *.dll .
They were installed into separate directories but on my pc cubase doesnt like to see two dll's with the same name.
Will there be any issues by doing this?

Not really problems, but inconveniences: the new version can load presets from the older one, but not the other way around. Even though they are 2 different dll, they will both point into the same installation directory (where you key file and presets database are located). So if you use the newer one and then try to use the older one, you will be prompted with messages saying that the preset can't be used with this version.
2.05 is pretty stable, from what I hear - the only complaint is the nasty feedback tones you can get when getting crazy with the "filter feedback" sliders, but hey, that's the risk - turn clipping on, and use feedback carefully
Besides, 2.06 is almost here already
