Kairatune is not SynthMaker, (nor SynthEdit), its entirely self-coded, IIRC in C++.

Gee, that is way too much. I would never pay more than, say, 40 dollars for a SE synth, no matter how good it is. The only exception might be those where the developer programmed their own code. But the overwhelming majority of SE plugins use standard modules, both SE and third-party, so $40 is my limit.Numanoid wrote:It cost €80, a bit overpriced.fluffy_little_something wrote:

But the dev could be nice and do like ugo and dlm, set the plug free

And back then in 2005 I guess Synthedit was a state-of-the-art platform, so those kind of prices was legit

Hard to imagine SE was ever considered state-of-the-artNumanoid wrote:But it is over 8 years since it was released now:fluffy_little_something wrote:Gee, that is way too much. Some developers have always had strange ideas what the right price for their products (both SE and proprietary) should be...

The upper limit for me on most VST purchases is in the $100 range whether a bigger developer or independent. Thats per instrument. Really happy with most purchases but took a chance on a few based on research here and reviews. I would hope that us users would support the best developers both independent and corporate. Favorites for me thus far are Arturia Lab, Alchemy, Komplete, and the Korg m1 from the corporate side.
From the independent side Algo M42, Hg Fortune The Tiger Percumat Ultra swamp, Tube ohms TFM Vintage Gamma Ray Fluid and Pure Rack. No buyers remorse on any of these instruments.
Considering Omnisphere but high price and lack of specials has kept me at bay. Anyone have thoughts on Arturia V 3 collection at price of $179 especially if already have Lab?

How could I forget TubeOhm?
He makes great Synthedit synths, too...

What do you think of prices for Bruno, Alpha Ray upgrade or first versions of Gamma Ray?
Not an argument looking for thoughts on pricing on those synths.

Too expensive for me.
Seeing that I can get something like Padshop Pro for $80 and Retrologue for $50, with 64 bit support and also vst3 support

Exactly. There is a quality difference that should be reflected in the price.Numanoid wrote:€59 = $80zag4139@comcast.net wrote:What do you think of prices for Bruno, Alpha Ray upgrade or first versions of Gamma Ray?

I would rather wait for a Waves promotion and get Element for 100 bucks than buy any SE synth for 80...

I wouldn't say quality difference, but rather feature differencefluffy_little_something wrote:Exactly. There is a quality difference that should be reflected in the price.

SE synths can sound as good as the best, but compatability issues with 64 bit DAWs, makes me more wary paying as much for them as for 64 bit plugs.

Phasewave costs 59 EUR which is $81 - way too much for a Synthedit synth, especially in times where others are giving their SE synths away for free. Compare it with the prices of HGFortune synths... I'd pay $81 for SynthMaster but not for a Synthedit synth...zag4139@comcast.net wrote:What do you think of prices for Bruno, Alpha Ray upgrade or first versions of Gamma Ray?

Yes, it's about 85 dollars, but still, that is quite a lot for a SE synth. Actually, I don't know many that cost more.Numanoid wrote:Who's your currency dealer?Tricky-Loops wrote:59 EUR which is $99

I guess that developer has an image and marketing problem. Thus he has few clients, thus he has to charge so much...
I bought the full version of the AT the other day, and I asked how I could switch to the whitish skin, he replied that I can't, I should have said when buying that I wanted the light GUI version. It didn't say anything about that on his messy site. It is also little, unprofessional things like that that piss me off.

I really wanted to try Padshop but my Daws do not support vsti 3 yet. Does the newest version of Reaper support it?
Thx for the feedback!
