Just wish like some here that there was an alternative skin where the fonts were bigger or preferably white as they are just a blur on my HD screen.

Thanks again, but if there will be more updates I'd very much like to see the dials numbers go white as happens when the English text comes on as those were the trouble all along, not the labels..
I know I'm supposed to listen but it's still useful to see the values and honestly I can hardly make out the numbers even if I go really close to the screen and squint. (1920x1200)

Sorry, it's very hard for me to do GUI adjustments because I'm not a designer.V'ger wrote:I know I'm supposed to listen but it's still useful to see the values and honestly I can hardly make out the numbers even if I go really close to the screen and squint. (1920x1200)
Imagine you listen my mix and tell me "please up 8 kHz I hardly hear it". That's couldn't happen because I have not so bad monitoring (actually it's KRK VXT-6, Auralex Mopads & Roominators, Echo AudioFire, Sennheiser EH350 & HD280) and I have some understanding of what good tonal balance is.
But for visual stuff I've got very cheap (but 24") monitor and no opinions of what good colors/brightness/contrast is.
So I think it's good for me to start receving donations and hire a real designer for GUI
PS. Actually I'm sitting very close to my monitor

@vladg: I am sure there is more than one very capable and willing grafx designer on here who'd like to help you out. Even for free, perhaps.
PS: I don't by any means want to say that Molot doesn't look great. But it probably won't harm to have a grafx professional/freelancer have a look at it.

Yeah, you should be proud. Very good looking GUI, impressive work for someone who is not into graphics design
No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

Yes GUI is good, just need larger and/or brighter dial numbers like what pops up when english language is chosen IMHO, that's all I'm saying. Don't really need a graphics designer for that and especially stop making GUIs altogether because some have trouble reading certain parts..
I can guess the feeling when you put all your weight on the sound and comments are about the GUI but don't take it the wrong way. Again, sound is very good, just a slight tweak of the dial numbers and it's a keeper for me.

I just have updated download page with "donate" button.xiq wrote:And finally: How can I donate?
If you like this plugin and use it in you work -or- don't like this plugin but want me to improve it -or- just sold your UAD on eBay you can thank me by making donation. Thank you!

PS. In the next update of Molot I want to add a new mode when only the control signal is oversampled. In current version in oversampling mode the sound is cleaner but lacks some definition due to nonlinearities in high frequences caused by antialiasing filter (-0.4 dB and -20 degrees of phase at 15 kHz). I think the new mode will be a good compromise between quality and ability to work in realtime.

just so everyone knows, "molot" means "sledgehammer" so it's no surprise it's so full of sound
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

I've updated version to 0.2.145:
New upsampling code: latency now 2 samples
Faster limiter release
Fixed bug with preset names changing
http://vladgsound.wordpress.com/downloads/
What I want to do in near future for Molot: add +12 dB switch (not input gain knob but single switch) and make VST for Mac!

I tried this mode but the results are not good enough. For 4x oversampling of sidechain signal only it sounds something like between 2x and 4x oversampling and eats CPU something between 2x and 4x oversampling. But at the same time some details in sound just like in 1x mode. So I think there's no reason to add this mode in new version.vladg wrote:PS. I will continue to thank you for each update, clearly you're doing awesome stuff here and I appreciate it. Lowering the latency further means that now I feel perfectly comfortable using it while tracking instruments. Cool stuff, man, thanks much.

Thanks for your generosity, it sounds very good.
One question, what's the last setting (all the way down to the right) in the ratio?
I searched for an answer in this thread but didn't find an answer.
Cheers
EDIT: I found it, it's "inf:1". Thanks.

Yes, awesome compressor indeed. Gutsy. This gets used very frequency in my mixes for buss compression.
