I can only repeat the already posted question :
are there plans for a RedPatt successor ?
--- Or will the Essential Comp be enhanced, further ?
What I would like to see is rather a new (payware) comp with the possibility to freely draw the curve (like maximus, but mono band). I really like that approach.

I guess you are right; the current TrackEssentials compressor was never ment as update for Red Phatt. The idea of being able to freely construct the compressor input/output curve is also quite interesting.

On topic: ToneBoosters now has a (somewhat experimental) Facebook page;
if all works well you will get update messages on your Facebook wall
if you 'like' the toneboosters page:

As I can't comment there ...

Hmmm ... these curves seem a bit odd ( having worked with tape for 10+ years )
What was done before taking those measurements ?
Where the machines mechanically adjusted and electronically calibrated to the used tape ?
( This process usually includes the use of a pretty expensive reference tape )

At least the studer should be able to produce a more linear response.
And the TEAC is obviously mis-adjusted for 7.5 IPS ( as You said, the slower speed was better )

I'd say in the frequency domain, the most noticeable tape 'artifacts' are the HF rolloff
and the Head-Bump.
BTW.: due to the head design, the head bump usually is most prominent at the max speed.
So the bump shows at 15 IPS with the Revox and at 7.5 with the TEAC.

Just my 2c
;)

Let me add a small FR for Barricade: I think it would be quite useful a make up gain, applied as very last control: this would help tremendously a one click compare between bypassed and unbypassed plugin (so checking any artefact or punch degradation) with comparable overall loudness.

EDIT: I see in the docs that the "monitor" button should do the trick, but AFAIK if it ignores the input gain it does not allow checking the possible artifacts deriving from heavy gain reduction.

Thanks,
Mario

Not there anymore. I'd like to buy Module to complete my TrackEssentials bundle.
