Yes - but when Fxpansion is behind it - I'm interested. But I do agree with pdxindy. Would rather see both integrated into one product.
It was... originally in DR-008

but they dropped that like a bad habit to move onto GURU... which they dropped and moved on to Geist... etc
Sad to say it (Being a brit) but the way they crapped on DR-008 is completely insane, parts of the UI don't even work FFS
Really put me off FXPansion for a long time the way they treated us DR-008 users grrrrrr

I know what you mean. I don't like how they kill off products instead of building upon them.

I also had DR-008 and didn't bother after that. I can't remember if they offered an upgrade to GURU for us but if they did I didn't go for it at the time. In the current market their usual prices didn't seem competitive so the discounts seem about right. But I suppose this is a clear out before the next new thing is introduced. Don't most developers do this to some degree though?

munchkin: Don't forget to set the oversampling in Synth Squad to 2x or 4x, makes a lot difference! and don't be afraid of Cypher!

As for the Groove Machine, afaik Image Line doesnt have 64 bit plugins, due to their Delphi framework and it's just matter of taste, for me Geist is more modern thinking.

Loading Tremor preset with the Kit page (one of the two interfaces in Tremor) into a Geist pad is a good idea! Is it possible Angus?

This white-blue gui shot reminds me to the early design of Synth Squad, you can check in the Chris Lake FM interview. Huge gui, no tabs ftw, definitely looking forward to this!

Really like the GUI but I want to hear it! Post some sound demos!

Never had a single offer off them to upgrade DR008 to anything
Can't say i have ever had any inclination off them that they give a flying flip about past customers :(

...and Geist is so similar to Guru I dont know how they got away with claiming it as 'new' rather than updated product

well, for a start it was new, and written from scratch, so isnt an updated product.

as for crossgrades from DR008, they were offered for BFD and Guru when they came out, which was at least 6 years ago. And Ive seen Angus do so on a individual basis since, well after companies who allegedly do 'give a flying flip about past customers' would have stopped.

Well, I only just read a review of Guru and looking at screen shot and features the similarities are uncanny

It is basically Guru 2... However, it is completely re-written and dramatically improved and as a Guru user I got a good price for Geist. It was fair IMO.

How many years have passed since DR-008 was released? How many years between DR-008 and Guru? How many years between Guru and Geist? How many years between BFD1 and BFD2?

BFD2 will load BFD1 kits, grooves, and presets.
Geist will load Guru kits, patterns, pattern banks, and presets.

Any accusations of killing off products or not caring about customers are completely unfounded. Sorry if that strokes the dog backwards, but it is the truth.

And I did post these a week or so ago, most people missed them:

I took the upgrade offer from GURU to Geist. In the early going, I spent a lot of time trying to get Geist to sound and work like GURU. And, sadly, none of the GURU presets ever translated properly into Geist despite various updates. Finally, they came up with a 'best of GURU' expansion pack which, thankfully, brought most of the great GURU kits over to Geist.

What I still miss though, is the numerous pattern banks that GURU had. There don't seem to be nearly as many in Geist. Not sure why this is, as I would think that as far as content goes, MIDI beats would be the easiest thing to include.

But overall, Geist is still my go to for drums. However, unfortunately, I discovered a bug where Geist crashes VST 3 plugs (particularly Halion Sonic)in Cubase 6 x64. I don't know why this is, and I'm sure getting an answer as to why would be an arduous process. Fortunately, I know not to mix those plugs together.

So many plugins, so little time...

Punch was OK for odd stuff, but IMO, in side-by-sides with Mircotonic, Drumaxx and Extreme Drum Synth, it fared kind of poorly in the sound department.

You're kidding right? It's... blue and white with black buttons... :dog:
