New Features in 2.3.1
Fixes

Fixed a timing issue with the eLC, so all communication
issues are now resolved and old projects load fine now.

Always defaults to the white3 skin for now, since the other
skins are not yet available in the new format.

OSX: Disabled the zoom-feature. It was experimental and
wasn't working right. The next update will probably have it
re-enabled.

:D

How does the new skin look like ;) ?

I can't install Nexus_2.3.1, it says the installer needs SP3!

My daw is XP SP2 and Nexus 2 works fine. Can you please update the installer to pass with SP2?

To do an OS update for a plugin is too much to ask. My daw is stable and i don't fiddle with an OS that works. There's too many things that can go wrong. I can't take a risk with stability right now.

I understand XP is ancient but fwiw, the differences between sp2 and sp3 were not crucial at the time. All sp2 hotfixes combined with some security stuff. Iirc SP3 had stability problems and could mess with Services settings, which are set on my system for best daw performance.

Please allow XP SP2 users to update Nexus 2!

zeep, you really should update. I did. The stability problems were on Athlon machines and it has been patched. Using it for months and I can't even remember the last time it crashed. It also didn't mess with any settings.

Question: What is an .nxb? It's the expansion bank file. Does it contain presets and sounds, or just presets and a reg key? I've looked all over the interweb and can't find an answer to this.

The ability to swap the insert FX seems to have disappeared - is this an oversight on my part is has it really been removed? I was hoping that the new FX would also have this ability too, some of the best "mistakes" have happened by switching the FX, I used it all the time. :?

Seriously devs, i would like to install the nexus2 update and use the expansion i just bought without updating my OS to SP3. I will email my request to your support aswell.

A SP3 update is not something simple for daw users. I need to backup my OS partition in case anything doesn't work after the sp3 install. So i need to purchase a ghost app to do that and study it, and get a hd to backup to. This takes very much time and i'm not taking chances with stability post-sp3 install right now.

Even though sp3 is listen as requirement for nexus 2 now it wasn't when i purchased.
From internet archive refx.com:
PC minimum system requirements

VST or RTAS host software
Pentium class 1.5 GHz processor
1GB of RAM (2GB or more highly recommended)
Display with 1024-by-768 or higher resolution
Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 or later
DVD drive for installation
Free USB-port for eLicenser
Internet connection to download license
I hope that you'll help me solve this issue.

Just curious, how long do you expect Developers to support an OS for, generally?

All due respect. That's a question that was to be expected, but silly nevertheless.
As long as possible.

I understand xp is old.

Sorry to tell you, but a backup solution which usually consists of a software and and spare HDD should be something you have already set up and running by now! If you don't, then I hope you'll never experience hardware failure, memory corruption or a corrupted file system 8) Could be worse than installing SP3 you know?

True. I have a macbookpro for the road, it's my number one backup. ;)

I have data backups for both platforms too. Most important things like projects, sounds, documents, contacts, licences, mail archive and such.

Anyway, enough about that. Back OT.

I updated to Nexus 2.3.1 and had tons of issues with opening past projects with Nexus in them. Seems to be an error with elicenser, nexus 2.3.1 and Logic 9.1.6. I e-mailed support and they responded lightning fast and told me they are working on a update to fix the Logic issue. So Logic users may want to wait until 2.3.2 to upgrade. I had to roll back to 2.2.1

Loving the new GUI and cant wait for the 64 bit work flow.

@sandmanfuzzy: did you try seeing if there was an update to the elicenser control center? So far, it's been an innocuous little red nightlight in my USB port, but I'm waiting....
I've done far too many updates that actually break things more than fix, so I don't know.
The 3d graphics seem counter-intuitive to my computer settings as I have graphics set to run at minimal.
What I'd like to know is a good reason to update. Improved sound quality? More presets? Better CPU?
I'm even more clueless about how to update. Do you have to re-download everything? Can you install over the previous version, or should you uninstall, then install?
I have a bunch of .fxp's I made with the old version and I don't want to lose them.
