Ummm.. Windows Phone has been out since 2010 on many different phones. :)

I'm not a fan of it, but then I'm not a fan of iOS either. Having to install special software just to copy files to/from a phone is an instant turn off.
Other than that and a few minor complaints, they seem to work well for what they do.

If you're getting an Android phone I would definitely recommend something with the latest version, tho (ICS).

Did you even read the thread or do you usually pick whatever fits your biased opinion and reply out of context? Too bad, because this thread was quite informative until you posted :?
Lol!!!!

I paid special attention to the part where the OP said 'which is better for music apps'

The windows phone available here in the uk is £1 cheaper per month than an iphone 4S for the equivelant contract, so no person with an interest in music apps should even consider it imo.

If that is 'arrogant' or me just being 'plain silly' then I'm guilty as charged.

If being 'uninformed' is not realising that a windows mobile is capable of telling you some kid has just bettered your 'most headshots' award on XBOX, then ignorance is pure bliss.......

If being 'biased' means i can enjoy apps like Lemur & the Moog synth and not having the ability to view a powerpoint presentation on my mobile, I'll gladly put myself forward as a future poster child for Apple.

This thread was quite on-topic until you posted.
No, that Glitch is meant to be there.....

The suggestion was to wait for Nokia to sort their hardware out and wait for the Lumina 900.

I would bet a bollock that there are more people writing virii for windows phones than audio apps.

I agree that being forced to do the same drag and drop with itunes instead of Windows Explorer should be more than enough to warrant a musician from dismissing the iphone........

Yadda yadda yadda. There are so many things wrong in your post that it clearly disqualifies you from having an unbiased opinion.

Just for the record:

1) it's LUMIA not Lumina
2) the suggestion to wait for the Lumia 900 was based on improved hardware and a bigger screen, which has an advantage over small screens like on the iPhone when it comes to texting (the op's main focus)
3) there are no viruses on Windows Phones hence no Virus Removal Software required
4) the equivalent to iTunes for synching data with Windows Phones is called Zune. Not Windows Explorer.

Sorry little Grain Bastard, but to me it looks like you totally fit in the typical uninformed, biased iPhone user scheme

The resolution would still only be 800x480 though
So not sure what advantage that is going to bring.

The decision is simple:

Longer life span OS = more apps
That means iOS and Android

I've heard iOS has better libraries for developers to use concerning audio. I'm not sure if this is true though.

In the end, if an app looks good to you and the phone looks good to you, you're sorted.

My advice would be, check out some Android phones and check out the iPhone. See what you like best, then get some apps.

There's plenty on both platforms to keep you busy.

Lol, have I just been pwned???

Maybe if I'd got a windows phone, spell checker would have sorted it for me.

You don't even, need to type txt messages with iPhone thanks to Siri or stuff like Dragon.

Anyway, I can tell your getting angry by the personal attacks directed towards me so lets just agree to disagree eh??

Have fun

It's just easier on the eyes and simply easier to type.

Just like you can on any Windows Phone since they were first released in 2010. The best is it works even without the need for a silly marketing name like Siri

I'm not getting angry at all, just getting the facts right. So there's nothing to agree or disagree on. I understand you don't like Windows Phones, which I really don't care about at all. I just don't like silly generalizations based on wrong prejudices. From what I read I doubt you ever used a Windows Phone nor have you bothered to get engaged in it's technology.

Ultimately it's the OPs decision which phone fits best to him/her.

Post

@Grain Bastard: Good idea on the "let's agree to disagree."

@bm3w: Just a reminder that engaging in personal insults/attacks is a great way to earn some time off from KVR. Platform-righteousness is no excuse. Re-read the forum rules, please, and follow them. Immediately.

Post

So posting BS doesn't seem to be an issue... oh well. Gotcha. Now I agree with you, Meffy, to disagree. Cheers!

Post

Don't play word games. You will lose. Posting personal attacks is an issue.

If you want to argue facts, argue facts. Don't post insults like "Sorry little Grain Bastard, but to me it looks like you totally fit in the typical uninformed, biased iPhone user scheme" and similar stuff in your previous posts, or you will get time off. That's pretty close to blatant trolling, flame-baiting at the very least. Capisce?

Post

I do understand and will try my best to avoid making others feel insulted, still I disagree with you, Meffy. And lose? Lose what? Sorry Meffy, but IMHO those kind of threats are basically in the same category as the things you're claiming to fight against.

OK. I'll stop to argue any further. It's pointless anyways. If you feel like giving me some time off, don't hesitate. It won't change my mind

Now please everyone back to topic!

Post

Long as you'll keep clear of personal attacks, there'll be no need for even the "threat" of a temp ban. Now enjoy discussing the topic in a civil manner.
