I just had a play with the new Analog Laboratory. Honestly I forgot how similar all the synths sound. And as for the new SEM V, I'm sorry but it's more of the same. I do still like it, I enjoy the arturia sound. However it is no leap forward in terms of quality. The ARP2600 and minimoog are every bit as good. Aside from slight filter behavior differences, they sound so similar anyways.

It's a shame because the only one i'm even remotely interested in is the ARP2600 but thats the worst one.

Best analog emu out there, right next to DIVA.

With the new pricing structure, I HAD to get the ModularV. Always wanted it, and tired of talking myself out of buying it. How close it sounds to the real thing is not an issue for me. I love modulars, and enjoy creating my own patches. And I really like looking at those graphics, although the print is small. Patch chords rule! Just learn where everything is and forget abut it!
So far really enjoying it and like the sound. Will I purchase another? Probably not - for variety's sake, but I plan on really taking this one as far as I can.
It was good enough for richard lainhart to use - that guy (R.I.P.) was the best synthesist I ever saw live.
