The reason I'm keeping maschine (until it dies) is because it's a terrific guitar utility
Volume, tempo, it's right there. If I want to play along with some chords or whatever, I can do that too. Now that I've said that, I'm sure it will die (why not, everything else is going wrong.)

Keep what you have mate. By the time the new Machine comes out it's discontinued and the next version will be announced. Seriously who can keep up these days with all that?

Computer Music magazine/Music Radar appear to be enjoying the current beta. They've written a very detailed (NDA-breaking??) report on it here:

Given that "hybrid" tracks, VSTs and stuff aren't yet available in the beta, I guess there's still quite a wait ahead before the commercial product is really ready to launch though :/

But they are really impressed with the parts that are already working well, so this is becoming more interestingMusic Radar wrote:Bitwig Studio is in a rawer state than we were expecting, even for a beta version, and there's still clearly a long way to go in terms of features, stability and performance (we're hoping it's early days for the warping system, the Inspector and many of the devices, particularly).

Wow. (to the article)
It sounds more like an alpha than a beta, with so many things "not working yet" according to the reviewer. That's a little... surprising... given the long delays.
Nice review though.

"Bad habits are hard to brake"
Working at Ableton for long time...
Edit:
What counts really, is that they will come out with something really special.
Hopefully.

Fully agree. My comment wasn't a knock at all. I actually was just a little surprised that a thing goes into beta with no third party plug support and some automation not yet working.liquidsound wrote:"Bad habits are hard to brake"

But yeah, it actually does look like something that might be rather special indeed. The anticipation is reaching a peak.
I wish them the very best of luck with the launch.
