Just taking this synth for a test drive - sounds great! I didn't expect.

Is within the KVR OSC challenge rules to use EQ band sweeeps from side to side [right /left]? As an example, I am refering to the middle knob in the "band parameters" section from the photo below of SplineEQ

Of course bro. Look at it this way: You can pretty much automate and use total wackiness with almost any type of effect except the illegal modulation ones (unless it's in the Synth) as listed in the rules. Of course keeping in mind that to totally obliterate a sound using these techniques would likely raise ears / eyes / tails (yes I have a tail).
Have a good day.

Just an advice.
If you expecting to use Sonar X1 64 bits... The bit bridge doesnt work well with synthedit plugins here. Lots of clicks and pops.
But the 32 bits version works very well.

How the monkey do I set up the simplest of ADSR envelope gates on this thing?
There's no master ADSR, and there's no amplitude in the modulation destinations

On the bottom left are 2 sets of envelops... I think the first set is the Amplitude envelope. I hope that helps?Mushy Mushy wrote:How the monkey do I set up the simplest of ADSR envelope gates on this thing?

I've just entered a 1 bar note. Then adjusted the sustain to zero, decay wound right down and I'm still hearing the full one bar note.
EDIT: it's the bottom one. Works now

I like your pluggies!
The GUIs appeal to me for some reason.
They are understated or something.
The fix is working here on 7 64-bit,
so I am in the contest,
racked up like 7 instances without a hitch.
Ghettosynth-
if ur keen, try Chris' fix,
maybe you can still enter
I thought that I should respond, sorry I didn't respond sooner, work has kept me busy the last couple of days.
First, yes, thanks to chris_b for uploading the fix. So far it seems to be stable here and again, I'm excited about this month's competition.
I wanted to clarify about the interface. I agree with nix, it's understated and I like that aspect. What I don't like is the flow, the nonuniformity, and I'm not crazy about the labeling. If I were to give any advice it would be to retain the understated aspect, that's often sorely missing, but strive for a bit more neatness and for the interface to inform the user just a bit more.
By uniformity, I don't mean that all the module boxes should be the same size, but that the panel looks intentional. See space in between differently sized modules as an opportunity to inform in a subtle way. Right now it has a "woo I'm tired of working on this, it's good enough for now" look about the arrangement.
By informative I mean that the best interface is one that you don't even know is there. Just looking at the synth is enough to use it. Don't be verbose, but don't leave doubt in the minds of the user about what a particular function does. It's almost there, I think that it just needs a little more work. The colors are great, not too dark, but not flashy. The only thing that I would change would be the white label background of the dropdown lists. I'd try to make it blend just a tad more. I wouldn't make it dark, I hate that, but I'd choose something other than white. To be honest, I'm not sure that I like the dropdown lists. I guess that I wouldn't be afraid to make the UI a bit larger and replace the dropdown lists with radio buttons.
Being subtle is not my strong suite, I sincerely hope this is taken as helpful and I'll be glad to clarify if I'm not being clear enough.
Thanks again and kudos to the author for being responsive.
Best,
gs

Seeing as you guys are brilliant with the seemingly impossible.
Is there any way to simulate a reverse reverb effect on a kick?
I'm thinking of just automating a saw/sine to simulate the reverb envelope and apply a 100% wet verb to this.
Any other methods you could suggest?

That would seem one of the best ways to me. Also you could take your kick layer(s) and reverse each of them to make a reverse kick, and do as you said above with 100% wetness to give it a bit more of the timbre.Mushy Mushy wrote:Seeing as you guys are brilliant with the seemingly impossible.

Yeah but we can't render and reverse can we? That would be the easiest option by a long shot.bjporter wrote:That would seem one of the best ways to me.
