It's insanely huge...:-o

...Nope, just kidding . If used in single band mode, with no spectrum analysis, the overhead should not be noticeable. The overhead is mainly due to gain, spread and pans controls, so it's not a big deal.

Thanks for the answers mr bluecat! :)

I have heard about the phase problems with dry/wet but why is it working so well with many other plugins like guitars rig and my compressor? Even if it is the clean signal there are no phase problems with all of my plugins which have a dry/wet control.

You posted:

"We can think about it, but for most plug-ins it does not make much sense, as they modify the phase, so dry/wet will just create holes in the spectrum... "

Thanks for saying this. I have created an acoustics modelling VST and beta testers often ask for Wet/Dry. Nooooooo! You don't want that --- unless you intend to do extensive phase analysis each time you adjust anything!

Great job, BTW!

Best regards,
Dave Clark

Dave Clark?

Please tell me how Guitare Rig, PSP H20, my Studio One Compressor, my UAD Moog Filter, Glitch2, camel phat 3 and many many more of my plugins can handle a dry/wet control?
I have no audible phase problems and I use the dry/wet controls very often with automations as example!

Thanks Dave.

Many plug-ins of ours actually have Dry/Wet controls (see Blue Cat's MB-5 Dynamix, Liny EQ, Dynamics for example)).

The difference here is that we do not have control over the third party plug-ins that are inserted into the bands. If they change the phase (which happens anytime filtering is involved - except if it is linear phase), the dry/wet control should take these changes into account to perform properly, which we cannot do since we don't know the algorithms of the plug-ins you have inserted.

In the case of multiband hosting, knowing the phase changes would be even more critical, because we would have to compensate it on other bands as well (to avoid phase cancellation around crossover points).

It is of course possible to add a simple dry/wet control at the output of the plug-in, but I am afraid there would be too many cases where people would not be satisfied with it.

Thank you for your clear statemenet. After that I really understand if you say no, it is not possible. Instead I will use the bypass switch, which is there I hope.
If not I will use the one of my DAW, lol.

It's possible, but it would'nt work very well for some plug-ins (just the same way it does not work well when using the DAW's dry/wet know in some case, maybe worse because of the multiband nature of the processor). We' ll have to give it a try and see!

None of the VST synths (ie Nexus, Geist demo) sync their arps/triggers when loaded into the MB-7 demo in PT11 (mac) - is this just a limitation of the architecture or a bug?

Host sync is currently not supported yet but it is in the todo list!

Ahh, okay. I'll take another look once it's added.
