There's a German singer (Philip Boa) who turned bad Denglisch ("I make me me nothing, you nothing, out of the dust") into an art form, so there are exceptions to this. Usually sensible advice, though.

Good point. For extra fun, why not try cross-translating lyrics in Google translate or similar. Try taking it from English, then to French, via Japanese and back again to English. Great fun. Especially for short lines that can turn very zen very quickly.
