Haha, yeah, I have too many of these drones... I like 'em, but I have the feeling that a lot of the libraries out there feature too many drones... (and I am really covered with my recent purchases of Sonic Couture's Geosonics and Patchpool's Alchemy stuff - both excellent, btw).
I don't know about the price, sorry. I am just a customer myself - no connection to these guys beyond owning their product.

Heheh, Patchpool and Yuroun for Alchemy has me pretty well covered. Definitely great libraries there.tq wrote:Haha, yeah, I have too many of these drones... I just jumped on the Iris thing because a dealer sold it with the +7 with two more discount codes added. So I'm officially over the top with that purchase.
SonicCouture is one I'm watching closely right now, hoping for some great sale. Really have my eye on the Pan Drums and Skiddaw Stones. Konkrete 3 has my interest too, as well as a couple more.
This one (REV) is climbing my list of things now.

O.k., OT, but as you mention it: I have both.BBFG# wrote: SonicCouture is one I'm watching closely right now, hoping for some great sale. Really have my eye on the Pan Drums and Skiddaw Stones. Konkrete 3 has my interest too, as well as a couple more.
SC usually have these 'buy one, get two deals'. And if you buy enough products, you get some additional free instruments. Some of these additional instruments are basically full price products as well. Don't remember exactly, but I think their sales are before Christmas (?).

I've heard that before about SC Sales and kind of waiting along those lines. Pan Drums I can use often. I have a free set I downloaded for Kontakt and another for Reaktor, which are very nice, but the harmonics are a bit too bright and SC versions seem to fit the bill to my mix. I believe their 'regular deal' is buy three get the fourth free with an additional instrument from another list for each one purchased (which would total eight instruments). I agree, very niche indeed and too expensive for me to buy at regular price. But a 50% sale will warrant me picking up at least those two. For me, Kontakt has pretty much shown its best to me in playing third party developed exotic/ethnic instruments. And in many ways, I would have to put this set in the same venue as a particular 'niche'. I would however, probably find as much or even more use than perhaps the SC Pan Drums (Which is at the top of my list of wants for SC).tq wrote:O.k., OT, but as you mention it: I have both.BBFG# wrote: SonicCouture is one I'm watching closely right now, hoping for some great sale. The Skiddaw Stones are superbly sampled, but I find them a bit limited in their potential use. At the end of the day, it's still somebody hitting (tuned) rocks.
(Again: The sampling is top notch, but the instrument is very 'niche'.)

Sometimes 'the list' changes according to the old 'urgency play' used in sales (Even knowing and understanding the sales ploy does not completely relieve me from it). And so an 'Introductory Price' can raise a product up the list before a product not yet on sale...

I downloaded this a few nights back. Haven't had a chance to use it in a production yet, but playing around with it, I'm genuinely impressed.
The sound quality is excellent. There are some decent editing options built in and controllable via the GUI or automation (though I prefer to use my own range of effects rather than built in ones).
But AFAICT it is revolutionary in its niche. I don't know of any other product that does what REV can do.
Regardless, there is a huge range of sounds included across the four categories and importantly to me, they are inspiring sounds. I hear and instantly the creative juices are working. I will be using this extensively for both playable instruments and sound design.
Congrats to the dev team. You've done a great job and it's clearly worth the price.
Sean Callery has been using reversed sounds extensively for scoring Homeland. Adapting what someone on VI-C said, this just might have the potential to finally bury the braahm trend in trailer music. I'd say watch for this becoming a staple in trailer music if nothing else. Having said that, this would be an excellent tool particularly for pop and EDM producers.

I think this thing looks great (literally, the UI is beautiful). My family goes into buying-for-ourselves lockdown for November/December, so I'll probably have to wait 'til January.
Really don't understand why folks were so bent about the marketing materials.

Ok just bought this.. Kind of let down... thought they were going to have a lot more instruments available such as strings and harps.. There are only 3 rises.. Hopefully Output puts a lot of more samples into this instrument, otherwise 200 dollars is an astronomical charging price.

I find it sad that the op rant about a product that he haven't use, complain about the promotion video and once a lot of people debunk his rant he never bother to show up anymore.
The very definition of hit and run.
