Agreed. I want an iPad for other reasons, but whether I get the pro or not is hinging on what's available for the pencil when I'm testing the pro at an Apple store in two months. I have no idea how the workflow will go since I've only created one piece of non-text content on my only iOS device thus far. But I want a MacBook replacement for the summertime when I don't want a heater and lap board on top of me and don't need a keyboard to do basic typing.

So far, I've had no chance to really play with any decent audio apps on iOS because I've only this 6-generations-out-of-date iPhone 4 (and most music apps are for iPad anyway).

Agreed. The last time I tried a graphics app on iOS was my iPhone 4 and the 3rd party stylus was crap (as they all are currently). I gave up on that. Too small a device anyway. But I'm interested in seeing what may come for the iPad Pro.

I want an iPad regardless of the above, however. My primary interest is in having a modern iOS device that's not tiny, so I can do Internet, communications, and maybe check out the iOS music apps I've been missing. The Apple Pencil is a bonus that I hope is worthwhile enough. I won't know until I try out an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil at an Apple store in two months. If the graphics apps are impressive enough, I'll have more than music to look forward to on a 12" iPad. I'm not sure about the weight, though.

My only workflow experience with iOS is text (mostly emailed to myself, since iTunes is not at all convenient) and one joke song GarageBand project (another clumsy iTunes process). My six-generations-old iPhone 4 is not a place to do much of anything anymore (half a year ago, I couldn't even use it to type postings on this forum without screaming bloody murder at the slowness of the forum pages; minor improvement since then, but the Internet sucks hard right now overall).

Oops. Sorry for the repetitious postings.  Thought I lost my first post.

The nice thing about iOS 9 (just released) is that Safari now supports ad blockers (I use Crystal, but several are available). It improved my browsing experience (on the iPad Air 2) tremendously. It also stops tracking and such, so much less bloat and extra traffic. Very smooth. (Requires iOS 9 and a 64-bit device.)

Yup, a nice feature and a real killer for "free" forums like this... Use with care.
Skrivarna Software - professional apps for musicians.
Fakebook Sheet Music Reader - the Real Book.
