Sorry - nothing to report really. The video is however aiming at the new "Presonus" control devices that we're shown at Musikmesse. The CS18AI (which will be able to control hosts) in combination with/without the UC Surface and their new rack devices.

Granted, this looks like a new Studio One. And yes, I got confirmation by various companies (that I beta test for and met at Musikmesse) that already had(!) access to Studio One v3 - it will come out - I just wasn't told a date yet (rumor has it - Q3/Q4 2015 - my guess is Summer NAMM latest - so yes, it'll be "around the corner").

I even asked the people at the Presonus booth on Wednesday, and again on Thursday - they kept quiet.

So all we have currently, is a GUI that looks like Studio One, kind of behaves like Studio One, but isn't Studio One v3.

When it comes, it comes. Not a big deal but I wish presonus had a better bedside manner

I wouldn't be surprised if version 3 becomes my main daw. Just hope they don't mess up the workflow with the new update.

Well Messe isn't over yet, so there's still time for them to announce it. Or say a few things about it. One can hope...

A little better looking but mute buttons should NEVER be red.....At the very least, the mute button shouldnt be the same color as the record arm button. Not sure how Presonus could possibly think that was a good idea.
There ya have it...

I can only say I do not care much how the picture of the GUI looks like, as long as they introduced the customization of the skin/themes. I hope they did.

...and that's all I have to say about it!

No mention about cpu optimization?

The Solo Button and the Record Enable buttons are both red in Cubase, but the former is squared and the other one a circle in terms of button form.

I don't have a problem with that.

No, we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is S1 V3 - Presonus itself names it like this.

I was at the friggin BOOTH the last two days!

So unless you're a beta tester and just broke the NDA to confirm that this(!) is S1 v3 - I take the word from the company itself. And they told me, that what you saw on the screens was "not" v3. Unless the people at the booth knew jack sh*t and lied into the faces of the interested parties at Musikmesse. Which is even worse IMO.

But what the hell do I know?!

The obvious question is: if not V3 then what was it? It looks unmistakenly like Studio One (but darker). It's NOT version 1 or 2. The control surface lists one DAW that it works with: Studio One. So it's got to be some "new" version of Studio One or a mockup.

I'm not a big believer in conspiracy theories but I'm more inclined to believe that this IS an early version of S1 v3, and if anything, they're telling you it's not based on technicality ("well, it's NOT the release version so we haven't lied to anyone by saying it's NOT v3"), or they're just struggling for any good answer without revealing v3. Perhaps they meant to announce v3 at Messe and it wasn't ready, or perhaps they just wanted to build some hype ahead of the announcement and get people talking. Or perhaps it's not v3 at all and some kind of ruse to throw us all off.

Either way, the wait for V3 goes on.

It's gotta suck for Presonus that they announce a pretty awesome DAW Control Surface, and most of the talk (from what I've seen) has been about the screen capture of the DAW used in the promo materials, which they haven't announced yet. It's like people are saying, "yeah, control surface: don't care, where's v3?" That's probably NOT how they wanted to announce their hardware. Doing both announcements at once would have made more sense.

That said, you gotta respect Presonus for taking their time. It tells me they're trying to get things right. If this were Cakewalk, we'd be on Studio One version 6 by now, even if the damn thing couldn't launch without crashing.
