Ah, got it! (had to go to the Youtube site to see it though. Not sure why.)

...but still. To be honest, the UIs on impOSCar 2 and Oddity 2 are horrible. Both totally suffer from the mistake of believing that strict adherence to the look and layout of the original instrument is going to make for a good virtual interface. It doesn't unless you're dealing with a very simple instrument like a Minimoog, and even that can be improved upon. Shame, because they nail the sound quality. How accurate they are, I can't really say, but they sound very good to me. :tu:

There is a way of capturing the aesthetic of the original hardware while at the same time not being constrained to it... especially considering that the original design had very much to do with physical properties that don't exist for a software instrument. I'm not saying to drop the skeuomorphism completely, I actually like that. Just have a UI designer sit down and really consider the layout from a usability standpoint.
Found your thoughts spot-on for Oddity, even if part of Odissey charm was not being a Moog.

On the other hand I found Imposcar layout straightforward, only arp tempo is a bit off. I was a bit afraid of the pack of new features jammed in such a layout, but works for me.
Sometimes it feels like a Cybernoid stage :hihi: But having all main controls within a horizontal mousesweep is cool.

Not buying a synth because there is no "init" patch is nuts.
Especially considering it takes less than 5 mins to make and save your own.

What nonsense. What good is a homemade amateur 'init' patch compared to a proper professionally-made one?
Set Theory claim:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate.
Red is Red and anything that is Red is an object, a class in itself or a real thing if you prefer"

But most professional init patches start with a saw - real 'real' pros would start with a sine of course.

I start with white noise.

Makes it more challenging.

I don't about "professionally", but it you CTRL+Click on every parameter you'll get a drummer made one, Dave chose those default settings.

Ah yes, CTRL+Click on each and every parameter. What a sensible way to restore the synth to it's default state.

Perhaps you could hire Spectrasonics to design a bank of init patches.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

Tough crowd.

There's already been a init patch posted to this thread so why the angst?

The first download has Mr. Arkadin's great bank and an init patch.

When does the sale end ?

The intention was never to restore the synth to its default state, but the parameter.

As I've already stated, during development I did not receive any request to implement an "initialize all" feature, NOT ONE, perhaos our beta testers and patch programmers just don't work that way. So I hope people can forgive me for not thinking of and implementing every feature every user might want.

Now it seems some people do want to work that way, that's fair enough, and I understand that everybody wants built in features for their preferred way of working. But it's the work of a couple of minutes to set up your own (or you can download one that someone else did), and then if you want just assign it to a memory button for instant recall.

A Perfect solution? No, but probably quicker than typing a message on KVR saying that there should be an init patch feature.

I agree. There is a perfectly fine init patch right here at KVR. It's your typical dry saw tooth fast attack, full sustain, filter open, etc. patch. More than usable in and of itself. I downloaded it, stored it, done.

PS - Love your synth. Will be designing a sound library for it someday when I get the time.

Thanks. I look forward to hearing them, hearing what people do with it is what really makes it all worth it.
