Relayer CPU consumption can vary a lot depending on its settings: Number of Taps, delay time modulation, FX used, FX modulation, Color settings.

A 32 taps with two FX activated with LFO modulated Redux and Vowel can indeed eat quite some CPU.
With great power comes great responsibility :)

The point though is that it is doing that with no audio passing through it? Just sitting on a return track with nothing else loaded in the DAW?

slightly another ballpark IMO, ...not focused especially on delay effects, AFAIK, (but deserves interest nonetheless... )

We can maybe optimize the input silent case indeed although this can be tricky as it depends mostly
on what is in the delay line which is always non silent when feedback is non 0, as well as FX and color tail.

Will check this though.

Relayer definitely compliments Echoboy. Echoboy has been on a send in my template for years and will be there for loads more. For what it does I can't see it being replaced

Relayer is a different beast, crazy control over taps and sounds great. Much more creative and you can see what you are doing , no sub menus!!!!! I think optimisation of the FX is needed, as stated earlier at a lot of steps they can eat CPU. Are the FX oversampled at all ?maybe a 1x mod if so. Tx Oliver for dropping by, great to haves a dev join us and congrats on an amazing plugin.
Mac Studio M4

AU crashes Live (9.1.10, 10.8.5), but not Logic or Numerology. VST fine.
Version 1.0.1 is now available.
It should fixes your issue.

FX are not oversampled, but Redux is a very high quality bit reduction FX (hence CPU intensive) which color the sound but is still usable with extreme setting (uses some MinBleps)

Thanks for your positive feedback

And likewise, congrats on the plugin and thanks for participating in the thread.

This indeed is a lovely device. I still am on the fence just because the reason I'm interested is the more extreme settings, 32 taps and use of the effects... which is just a very lovely setup, minus the CPU hit.

Honestly I'm really torn... This is the most intuitively designed FX plugin I've used. Everything is logically laid out, color coded, with visual representation and evenly spaced with a large enough UI (although I still wish it could be larger). Beyond the CPU consumption with 32 taps, my only gripes are my own personal preference for flat 2D interfaces over fake 3D modeled knobs, which obviously have no bearing on sound, so who cares.... This is one of the first plugins I feel like supporting just because its definitely well designed for utilizing all its features.

I love the GUI, I think it looks great.

Quite a cool product! Very well thought out and some great possibilities! Nice work guys! :tu:

Sound awesome. Many options in one plugin. And i like the visuals/GUI a lot.
Great price too. Especially when i compare it to Boz's Imperial Delay ( $299.00 ), which sort of does less but costs more.

Well Dan showed me the basics and then Simon had to come along and sew it all up with the comb arps. I'll demo it to be certain I have no issues, but I'm pretty sure I'm done for. I'm broke this month, but hey, maybe I can shoot some squirrels in the neighborhood and fry those up to get through the month...
A man must have his priorities.

Seems very interesting, especially at the intro price.

I don't have an ilok but it seems it is possible to use the license manager without a physical ilok and you give 3 authorizations. Is it possible to de-authorize a system? With Windows 10 coming soon I plan to format my system and do a clean install. I wouldn't want to lose an authorization because of this.
