Search for 'demix' in the help field.

I believe it's possible to split out MIDI notes by channel.
(It's been a long time, but I've done it)

Don't ask me, I just play here.

You can de-mix midi notes by channel but not by note number at this time.I put in a request to de-mix by note number ages ago and have just bought this feature request to the developers attention again since seeing this thread.

Is the score/staff editor in Samplitude as developed as the one in Cubase? Could someone paste a screenshot?

That's the feature I wish Samp had - demix by note number.

It's probably not as developed as Cubase since it was only introduced about 8-9 years ago I think.

Just an update from July's initial post and usage now the honey moon period has worn off.

How am I finding it?

Still great, absolutely love it. Best move I've made in the DAW world.

I've set Samplitude up to work a lot like I had been used to with Cubase, so I have a lot to thank Cubase for in terms of workflow - and things you can setup simply in Cubase with VST managment and such were more tricky in Samplitude.

But I'm really pleased with how Samp works and sounds for me now I've got it where I want it, mixing on it seems easy and fluid and the built in EQ is phenomenal in terms of sound.

Production side has some more quirks than previous DAW's I've used and there's still some frustrations within the workflow, some around grid/time changes, some around aux bus usage, some around FX inserts and some general GUI annoyances but the positives outweigh the negatives.

The controversial comment?

Even now I still believe it's internal summing of audio, most specifically with VSTi's to be more "superior" than previous daws.

Cubase seemed very picky about gain staging appropriately to get the right balance of sound quality and despite this to me it always remained very clinical in output (but probably a good thing).

Samplitude seems to handle this better - okay perhaps we should replace the word superior with forgiving and suddenly the phrase becomes a lot less sensational. But these are still my thoughts. Strong enough are they to open myself up here and prepared to be shot down about it. On playback - Samplitude sings to me.

That aside however, as a package I am really enjoying Samplitude and hope to get some EDM/Trance tutorials out at somepoint - as they are currently non existent anywhere in the virtual world (NICHE!).

Now I just cannot wait for Samp X3 but the release cycles are like every 2 years or something!

All the best.

thanks... I have Sam 11 and will prob upgrade this year.
also do electronic music as well w/ Sam... could do with better automation and midi patterns (cloning) etc... but over-all I love the end results.. Kraznet has great tutorials...

would be nice to have more vsti tutorials & tips/tricks... would be nice to have object type automation for vsti instruments in addition to track automation... like an automation clip. that can be cloned etc.
otherwise I will continue to route FL Studio into Sam and let FL handle the automation.

What is the difference between Samplitude Pro X2 and Samplitude Pro X2 Silver

Silver is included as magware:

That seems like a very very good deal.

Could you please expand on that, it's not quite clear what you mean - a) easier to mix with and get great results, or b) just sounds better, or c) ....
Also, do you have any suggestion why it behaves like that - i.e., if it makes you think it sounds better, there should be a technical reason for it.
Such claims should have been decisively proved or debunked a long time ago.

This "internal summing of audio" is what bothers me. Is this a proper term at all? Is there more than one way to sum things correctly?

I'm sorry to hear that.

Yes, it seems that different monitor modes can affect the rendering - which is not so good. One guy at Samp forum had crackles or some kind of distortion in rendered material.

Unless recording anything, why is rendering affected at all. Some odd choices made by Samp developers, in my view.

Understanding these monitors modes takes some reading - as too many features in Samp, I'm sorry to say.

I only use Samp ProX2 converting Reaper EDL-saved projects to OMF/AAF, and some high quality samplerate conversions.

Yeah, as Tracktion 5 also is included on the disc, not a bad deal for €10 (plus shipping)

Internal summing is real (as is bus summing), but it is disputed how much of an audible effect it can have from one DAW to another, as it either works or it doesn't, I suppose. Reference the articles in this search, for instance: https://www.google.com/search?q=interna ... dio+in+daw

And this search including the term "samplitude" in the search: https://www.google.com/search?q=interna ... samplitude

I love the 32-bit float mode as it pretty much eliminates the problem of overloads from DSP and all reverb tails and piano fades are clean and beautiful even after processing.

Several articles explain why this is so: https://www.google.com/search?q=advanta ... +bit+float

Samplitude has offered 32-bit float mode since the mid-nineties, with their 2496 version back in the SekD days.
