A little bump and update...

The Mix Challenge song pool is still on the verge of drying out. I really have to stress once more that if there is no new content available, the challenge will simply vanish. We have so many great talents here in the Music Cafe that ask for feedback and help regarding the mix... why not get in touch with us and get a free mix by several participants?!

We're currently looking for the following genres the most:

a hard rock or (full on) metal track for #Rocktober (October) or #MetalNovember (November)
This can be anything from 80ies hard rock, to Folk Rock, sub genres like Power Metal, to modern Djent. With or without vocals. With vocals is preferred... Grab your axes and/or fiddles, record something and forward it to us.

a Drum and Bass production
Think Neurofunk, Tech Step, etc... But Liquid Drum and Bass and/or OldSchool Jungle is also welcome.

more pop/rock material with vocals
We recently had a lot of instrumental work, mainly in the electronic genre. We'd love to see more vocal work, pop/rock productions, etc

an Orchestra mix
This can be anything from a (well produced) synthetic orchestra to actually own recorded sessions, marching bands, "modern" orchestras (chamber ensemble with rock elements), etc.

More Hip Hop, Rap, etc
Can be anything from classic Hip Hop of the late 80ies to modern, explicit lyrics stuff where people have to "censor" certain words (which is also a great exercise)

A little bump.

As of MC20 (see Production Techniques subforum), we're now back down to 01 track in the song pool. If we don't get new material by end of April, the Mix Challenge will end in May.

So please... those that contacted me, please check your PMs. And those that are sitting on the fence... please don't be shy and get in touch.

See the former post what genres we're especially after.

Again - no dice. But I appreciate the effort.

We need interaction and agreement for song providing. The only way I'd see picking up any tracks from them, would be me lurking on their page and asking for help, not to mention clearing rights and all that good stuff. Tricky and time consuming topic.

This also worked more than fine (read: not fine at all) on other communities. At some point, i was even gnarled at why the F I even post on this board and do cross promotion.

Once more - it goes a bit beyond me why people post in here in the Music Cafe, being like "I need help", yet ignore that the Mix Challenge exists, doing just that. With both a lot of fun for all participants, and for possible collaborations - free of charge.

So far the most helpful people to keep the challenge running, came from regulars of the OSC. I even tried to contact people through the Music Cafe directly... only to be postponed until infinity (and then just drop off the planet) or getting no answer at all.

I'll keep on bumping this thread until the challenge pool has run dry. If there are no further tracks to edit/work with... from this community especially, then I think the sad reality is that the challenge simply ends. I can't do more than contact people and ask for help, bump threads, do cross promotion, Tweet, etc. And that is really, really, really time consuming (which is why you only see one of us three initial initiatiors being most active), if it should actually work by itself.

And we're almost on the second year of the challenge already as well...

Actually - at this point, I'm already looking for a full on metal track for Rocktober or Metal-November. I had two candidates via PM conversations, but both of them didn't deliver sadly.
