Multiple instances appear to work too, which was always bit of a mystery if that could be done in the original HourGlass app...

This looks very interesting, i have to download the osx version to take a listen.
Is behind your hourglass tool, CDP running?

HourGlass always used its own sound processing code and didn't rely on running external programs like CDP or CSound.Xenox.AFL wrote:This looks very interesting, i have to download the osx version to take a listen.

The reason I ported the core HourGlass code to run in the new application is that CDP doesn't, as far as I know, offer the same kind of granular processing that HourGlass does. The "Full Monty" program in CDP comes close, but even that doesn't allow "scanning" the sound file in the manner HourGlass does.
It's beginning to look like I will abandon the original HourGlass project and will now concentrate on getting this new sound processing environment application happening...

Awesome work Xenokios! Where do I download this? I've played with CDP's excel interface before and it was mired with issues (crashes) and the GUI was unusable. But I did manage to create some unique sounds in it.
This would be a highly valuable tool - to unleash CDP in a usable GUI environment so the laymen folks can get a taste of it.
Question for Xenakios - would it be possible to merge this with FL Edison since Edison supports py scripts as well?

Ok, I see hourglass but I thought Xeno was working on a frontend for CDP?

What's the confusion? He's the developer of Hourglass, he's started working on the CDP front-end, he's not released it yet. From his most recent posts, it sounds like he's started integrating aspects of Hourglass into it.Neon Breath wrote:I am a bit confused tookeyman_sam wrote:Ok, I see hourglass but I thought Xeno was working on a frontend for CDP?
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

No binary downloads yet, but shouldn't be too long now for the first beta to appear.keyman_sam wrote:Where do I download this?

Something different would need to be coded for Edison in Python, since this new frontend is written in C++. ( Also uses Lua scripting.)

Sorry for the confusion.Neon Breath wrote:

λ started as a yet another project of mine to do a GUI frontend for the CDP programs. Lately it has evolved to be more, it can now also host VST/AU plugins and has some built-in sound processings, such as the reduced version of HourGlass I added last night.
