I see what you mean. That's not so great.thecontrolcentre wrote:Aloysius wrote:* The license key file needs to be used within 72 hours after downloadthecontrolcentre wrote:The keyfile only works for 72 days. After that if you change computers, or OS you need to download a new key, as the old one won't work. The old system license key files work on any computer with no timeout.Aloysius wrote:?T-CM11 wrote:So they've decided to switch to a challenge/response variation... that's the last I'll buy from them then.
(i) They send you a serial number which you use to register the plugin to your account.
(ii) Once the plugin is registered to your account, an authorization file for the plugin is available to download.
(iii) Open the plugin ... and navigate to the authorization file to activate.
I don't get what you mean about a challenge/response variation.
My mistake. Anyway it still means no D16, no authorization. Under the old system the license file worked on any system with no timeout.

Indeed, never thought about that. As long as the server is up and running, that shouldn't be an issue. But if the developer can't afford the server anymore and forget to deliver unlimited key-files, then we user are screwed.e@rs wrote:This 72 hours thing really sucks. What does the license agreement state for such a case? Is the developer obligated to deliver a solution, or since we don't "own" the plugin/software, we can't do anything?

Could it be as simple as just setting the computer clock to a time within the 72 hour period when you activate it?

I though the same but hoped that the developer took care of thatmutantdog wrote:Could it be as simple as just setting the computer clock to a time within the 72 hour period when you activate it?
Give it a try. I already activated mine.

I haven't got one to try, just interested to know for when they update the stuff that i do have. I normally advocate keeping backups of keyfiles and installers etc just in case, seems that will be useless here. Let's hope Apple don't come along and spoil it.

Downloading a warezed version is simple too, but that's not why we pay money for software.mutantdog wrote:Could it be as simple as just setting the computer clock to a time within the 72 hour period when you activate it?
Anyway, too late for my 9 euro now... so I'd better try this thing.

what do you mean "too late for my 9 euro now"? you can upgrade for 9 euro up until 22nd of November.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Dry sound in the beginning, then some D2 tweaking.
