I'm not a big reverb guy. I'm from the old school that believes if you can hear it then there's too much of it. I am not swayed by 20-second tails on lush pads - they sound great but it's not something I'll ever actually use.
Consequently, I really thought that VRoom was the last reverb I'd ever buy. (Despite what the factory presets suggest, VRoom does shorter, subtler diffusion quite well.) I only demoed VPlate out of respect for Sean's body of work, intending only to check it out. Not to buy it.
Shortest demo-to-buy cycle ever. Much to my surprise, VRoom has now been supplanted by VPlate as my go-to reverb for vocals and lead instruments.

I know that many of us buy Valhalla stuff anyway. But busines-wise, now when the Valhalla product portfolio is rather large, I think there's potential for a Group buy, e.g. "choose at least 2 products...".
If not absolutely against the company policy, think about that. Many of us have 1-2 products but there's potential demand for a couple more, with the additional incentive.

And as far as I understand his FAQ, there will be never any discount. I can easily live with that, because I think he puts so much effort and time in his products, that 50 bucks are actually kinda "cheap".
But I also have remind myself, that there are a lot of people in the world, where 50 bucks are a lot of money to them. I tend to forget my lucky position to live here in Switzerland, a country where the income is quite good (compared to other countries).
I "fear" the opposite, that Valhalla will or even have to raise the prices one day.

A bit cheap way to appear as a hero, IMO. The real heroes swim often against the tide...

sorry, confused Sean Costello with Shane McFee
both devs' prices are reasonable though!
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Really didn't want another verb. Gotta pick this one up though. just listening to the demo - sounds flippin beautiful.
And would likely instabuy a spring too if you ever get bored Sean.

No worries! I'm hearing quite a few Space Echo / tape echo / spring reverb requests, and will keep those in mind. Hopefully the next plugin won't take 3 years to release. My last plugin (VintageVerb) came out in December 2012.Totolitoto wrote:I know it must be tiring to have people asking for new stuff the same day you want to get some restcranium wrote:+1Totolitoto wrote:So Sean when is the Valhalland space echo 201 coming out?
