no matter what i'm doing i always go for Computer music's VPS philta (CM edition) for its Hi-pass filter
i use it on pretty much every track that is not supposed to have any low-end(like a hi-hat ) i always hi-pass everything
its the steepest hi-pass that is available to my knowledge, it does up to 96 dB

If your plugin is a Synth-edit/synth-maker creation, Say So.

Does it work in free Reaktor player?ghettosynth wrote:I really can't agree with this at all. I've found that some plugins are just so useful, they're like magic. For example, I use a Reaktor patch called The Wire on every single track of every single project. Sometimes, I will even load it more than once, either stacking it on the output, or loading it in between other effects. The wire is nothing but a pure DSP thru bus, but, the magic is in the length. It only works if you have a large monitor, smaller monitors just don't have enough travel length.
As the bits travel through The Wire, they are stripped of digital dirt and grunge that they pick up while being processed with other plugs. Additionally, and this is why the length matters, they will realign their phase owing to the carefully spaced parallel wires and the speed of the bits traveling through the wire. This requires a minimum length of parallel virtual wires and so you need at least a 30" monitor in order to use The Wire.
The impact on the depth and clarity of the audio is amazing. The soundstage widens and opens up and become, dare I say it, three dimensional.
I can show you a picture of the internals setup for a particular non-standard bit rate, however, keep in mind that this isn't just something that you can build yourself, even with a picture, the length is critical for proper phase alignment and, naturally, it's different for different bit rates. Moreover, the relationship isn't linear, so you can't just double the length going from 48k to 96k, for example. The Wire isn't cheap, but, when you consider what it does for your music, I'm not sure that you could name a price that wouldn't seem like it's a steal.
I'm a distributor for The Wire, and I can probably get you a discount if you're a reasonably successful artist and you're interested in promoting The Wire on your website, pm if interested.
The Wire is purchased separately for each bit rate that you are interested in, some artists try using the wrong bit rate The Wire for special effects, but it's neither recommended nor supported. This is a precision tool for precision engineers.

Red Phatt Pro: http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?pl ... ro&id=2066

Upwards/downwards compressor/expander, good envelope curvature, hysteresized detection signal highpass and lowpass that's monitorable, maximum attenuation, negligible CPU, zero latency.
I use it way too much, because it's like crack. Used to be a commercial product, now free.

That's some incredible techno nonsense bullshit. It's like professional level trolling.

There is 'bit depth' (number of bits in each sample) and there is 'sample rate' (number of samples per time unit).ghettosynth wrote: The Wire is purchased separately for each bit rate that you are interested in, some artists try using the wrong bit rate The Wire for special effects, but it's neither recommended nor supported. There is nothing called 'bit rate'.
The Wire by another name: Snake Oil.

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

Well, you know, providing the picture was way better than the alternative of my sharing another thousand words.spacekid wrote:The wire is a nice story. Good job ghettosynth, I especially like the picture.

Bit rate is well defined terminology, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bit_rate, and in terms of audio sampling, it incorporates both sample depth and sample rate. The discussion was simplified for a non-technical audience, however, since the algorithm aligns at the bit level, it is necessary to adjust the algorithm for any changes in either sample rate or sample depth.Spitfire31 wrote:There is 'bit depth' (number of bits in each sample) and there is 'sample rate' (number of samples per time unit).ghettosynth wrote: The Wire is purchased separately for each bit rate that you are interested in, some artists try using the wrong bit rate The Wire for special effects, but it's neither recommended nor supported. Like I said, not everyone is ready for the wire. It truly is a premium product designed for those artists who are at the peak of their game.

IIRC didn't Jordan Rudess do a demo video about The Wire? (Or perhaps I confused him with BT?) Either way, some Testimonials would certainly silence the criticsghettosynth wrote:It truly is a premium product designed for those artists who are at the peak of their game.

Of course not. The Wire is a professional tool, you will have to purchase a full copy of Reaktor in order to use The Wire. Keep in mind that Reaktor 6 is stunning and well worth the investment, and yes, I won't keep you guessing, I've just been informed that The Wire will be available in Blocks format soon.chris.r wrote:Does it work in free Reaktor player?ghettosynth wrote:I really can't agree with this at all.
