New synths and plugins are being released all the time, and they sell more than old synths/plugs

For most of the users plugs are a means to an end to release a piece of music, an album or single, or putting together background music for a youtube vidwagtunes wrote:So you're saying my only option is to create what I want myself.
So then you're saying what I am looking for WILL sell to other people? Others will want it? I mean which is it? Am I looking for something that nobody else will want or am I looking for something that many people will want?Numanoid wrote:Now you are putting yourself on a pedestalwagtunes wrote:But the sad truth is, nobody is going to make it if I'm their only customer.

If you cant build it yourself or contract, it will have to be sellable to other peoples as it otherwise would be a no go investment for a dev to build something that only one user would want to buy.wagtunes wrote:So then you're saying what I am looking for WILL sell to other people?
To have a hit, or to make it big as a software developer you most def want to look to make something that many users would want to buy.wagtunes wrote:am I looking for something that many people will want?
Before you create something you'd have to know what you want to create. And frankly, it does not seem like you really know what you want at all because you are not even able to describe it in clear and concise words (I think the description with the bits does not make any sense at all).wagtunes wrote:So you're saying my only option is to create what I want myself.
Okay, then the first step is to get down in specs exactly what I want.BlitBit wrote:Before you create something you'd have to know what you want to create. It seems like you have the ultimate form of GAS: wanting to buy something that you don't know what it is but it will magically let you create great sounds never heard before.
Do you need to know somebody personally to enter into business with them?wagtunes wrote:I don't know any developers personally.
Fine, so I'll just contact Urs From U-he. Hey, think he'll even return my email or call?Numanoid wrote:Do you need to know somebody personally to enter into business with them?wagtunes wrote:I don't know any developers personally.
I mean, if you plan to install a bath tub in your house, do you need to know the handy men personally for them to be able to do it
If the idea is good enough, why shouldn't any dev return your call?wagtunes wrote:Hey, think he'll even return my email or call?
After that you can go to the DSP and Plug-In Development sub forum. There you will find developers who can give you feedback on whether your ideas sound feasible.wagtunes wrote: After I've done that, then what? Who do I approach? I don't know any developers personally.
Normally, I would like to think that. But I have found from experience that a lot of people just don't want to be bothered, either because they have too much on their plate already or they simply don't take unsolicited submissions from others.Numanoid wrote:If they idea is good enough, why shouldn't any dev return your call?wagtunes wrote:Hey, think he'll even return my email or call?
And possibly find somebody willing to develop it? Hell, I don't even care if I don't make any money off of it. They can steal the idea and just make the damn synth for all I care. Just as long as it's commercially available for me to buy. I'm not looking at this as a money making project.BlitBit wrote:After that you can go to the DSP and Plug-In Development sub forum. Why bother with the naysayers, if you feel your ideas are good enough why would you let them be surpressed so easilywagtunes wrote:a lot of people just don't want to be bothered
Great! Then you can start with the first step now: the spec.wagtunes wrote: And possibly find somebody willing to develop it? Hell, I don't even care if I don't make any money off of it.
