Studio One's audio engine sounds way better to me than Ableton Live. If you can't hear it, then I don't know what to tell you.

"Pro" gear/real studios/compressors (except sidechaining from kick) are just a con, no one can really hear that shit anyway. All my tracks sound better than the pros anyway, I just don't want to release them because they're too good. You can ask my girlfriend if you don't believe me, except she lives in Canada.

192k on the other hand, if you can't hear how spectacularly better that is then you have no business making music.

Modular synthesizers are easy to budget, build, and are an excellent value - since they rarely require maintainence, are a breeze to learn, and sell for more used then what they cost new.
