Glad you like it, many of us already have FOURTEEN instruments as well as simpler models of the three new ones in analog lab. The full versions weren't worth $200, but, two Uhe synths definitely were worth that.
I simply can't understand all the hate for Arturia.
Dude, it's not hate, we've said that already, we just don't agree with you that their products are all that and a bag of chips. If you can't understand it then you should work on your reading skills because those of us who aren't really fans spell it out pretty clearly.

I'll say it again for you, their filter models need work. They even cop to the fact on their web site that CPU performance is a priority for them. I understand that, it's a decision that has to be made about where you want to position yourself in the market. However, some of us prefer the Uhe/NI Monark model were performance comes first and we're willing to bite the bullet on CPU.
Go use something else if you can't cope.
Can't cope? LOL! Yeah man, we do use other synths, we even tell you about them when you ask, like right now and all over this thread.

Well said. This sums it up for me... I personally don't hate Arturia at all. Why would I? I'm just not into their stuff, and I don't think it's particularly great. But it's just an opinion... And I never claimed to be any kind of 'taste ruler' (sorry had to be said, that's going to be my new catch phrase). :D

And as I've already said a few times now, that the bundle offers a lot of bang for your buck and it's good value. I just don't want it.

I'll just buy Synclavier at some point. If they come out with somthing else that I want, then I'll buy that as well.

I don't know why these things have to be repeated Ad nauseam. :?

Nope, completely missed that. I thought you were in your mid-puberty.
Did you come up with that one yourself? It's brilliant...[/quote]

Cheers thanks a lot.

Side-note, I prefer the 70s to 80s in a lot of things, despite my fascination in synthwave.
Say what you see... Christ in heaven!

On a side note:

PS - I wasn't being sarky about bob tho'. I do dislike 'older gents' who feel that they are owed respect because they are still currently alive. As I said, I don't want or need respect from anyone.
I find it hard to believe you're in your mid-40 and you dismiss people based on few statements. You must have missed a lot by following that kind-of attitude in life. Great friendships and relationships.
Well, don't worry, you're probably not threatened with respect from anyone.

I don't buy a word of that. Any time I've ever checked out an Arturia thread here at KVR it is always full of the constant loathing and whining about Arturia instruments. All the time. Constantly. Posters like Lemmings. It's so trendy, right, to bash Arturia. I don't ever recall reading where they said they were somehow the best VSTi's in the world. I do note that at least they update and add new products on a pretty regular clip. On and on. So I just don't buy any of the Lemming talk. It's both mindless and largely unfounded.

edit: Oh, and don't "dude" me. Get a clue.

For my side it's not bashing, I am only disapointed that Arturia doesn't see it necessary to rework their old emulations and let them sound like up to date synths.
What brings a modern GUI, customers whished many years ago, if the synths sound like stoneage, you can compare miniv more with steinbergs abandoned model e than with any modern synth like diva, the legend or monark. Same will happen to prophet, when u-he re-pro comes out.
If you compare the 10 years old timewarp to arp2600, then you realize that their TAE was only marketing, but i would realy like to have all their emulations these famous synths with their extra stuff updated. They had good ideas behind to expand functions, they have now a readable Gui, but what lags is the sound quality and I think, they should improve the sound and effect quality or they will loose the softwaremarket. Aslo spark2 doesn't see any update, maybe that why they removed it from collection5

Uh, I don't buy a word of that...

Lets all follow a 'trend' of bashing Arturia? I suspect it's probably more because people don't particularly like their synths.

As opposed to following some 'conspiratorial trend'. :?

The Diva argument is getting old, no one is arguing that Diva doesn't sound better...but it costs £180 and we are getting the V synth collection instruments for £17 each or Analogue Lab (for example) with 5000 pre-sets (from the 17 engines) and costs under £80..., so 1-1 isn't really a fair comparison is it? Is it worth them re-coding the old instruments - probably not (easier to start again and the original coders have probably left in some cases), should they stop selling them as they don't sound as 'good' as others on the market- hell no, just basically give them a way in a bundle top those that want them cheap (like me!)

Does a 10 year old plug sound as good as current plugs designed with todays powerful computers? Probably not in most cases, are they still worth having? To me, yes...I just wish others (are you listening Korg Legacy dev's) would at least update the GUI's on older VSTs as Artura did so I can see the graphics on my 4K screen :D

PS- Spark received some amazing and free updates, but the DrumBrute (17 voice real analogue hardware drum machine) for under £379....that's the cost of a couple of modern VSTs....and cheap cool products like this the reason I am mainly back in to hardware. Arturia were one of the first with affordable analogue synths (brave for a software company...) which makes them a TOP company in my books.
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Well, I think it is a fair comparison from the perspective that, I won't ever need the arturia synth collection, but I'd need Diva. I use it all the time - Value is all about usage.

No one is denying that the Arturia Collection isn't value for money, as it most certainly is. But if you don't want it and won't use it, then it hasn't got much value to me (and some others).

And Arturia back in the day were at the top of their game. But now they are not, for whatever reason.

In my country scene there is little interest in software, must people just know Arturia and NI. When I director them towards Diva they are impressed by the sound and the GUI.

Most prefer Diva over the V Collection.

I think we're getting too hung up on the "authentic emulation" thing. So what if Arturia synths don't sound as authentic as others emulating those synths? Do they sound good? Are they usable? Are they amazing value for what you pay for them? That's all I care about. My only complaint was the GUI sizes and they fixed that. So I am a very happy camper.

To each his own.

The only thing is, that it's hard not to get a bit hung up on the emulation side of things, because they set out with that specific task in mind. So, they are always going to be scrutinized for it against their Hardware counterparts.

Like 'The Legend' has been, but it can really hold it's own. Mind you, this is a long time after Arturia who had good synth emus at the time.

However, I think you've hit the nail on the head. If you like the way their synths sound, then that's all that really matters.
wagtunes wrote:To each his own.
If only others had that attitude. We could all have a decent discussion about the actual synths. :)

Absolutely, there are people who don't want or need Diva, but that doesn't diminish its value to others.
I agree its only value for money if you get your money worth (I.e. use it!) I have the same issue with Komplete Ultimate - I use about 10% of it, but for some reason keep upgrading! That's just the gearlust side and some very cheap November upgrade deals....I always think 'but one day I will really need some ethnic Indian drums... ' :dog:

I suspect the reason Artura are not concentrating too much resource on cutting edge software development is hardware (which cant be pirated!) - and I am OK with that is the drumbrute and matrix is the way they are going....when I am in my studio now I pretty much only use analogue hardware if that's the sound I want...on my laptop when not in my home studio (which is more often than not!) I love all the virtual stuff (but also appreciate the lower CPU hit from 'older' models!).

One other thing.

Name me the synths that do these better, accurate or not.

CS 80V3
SEM V3
ARP 2600 V3
Synclavier V3

I'll buy 'em right this very second.

I'd add to these:

Solina V2
Matrix-12 V2
Prophet V3 (the hybrid approach - or even any emulation of Prophet-VS)
Modular-V
Fernando (FMR)
