But a lock seems inevitable
EDIT: Edit topic? That's a possibility.
I keep saying that you are clueless for a reason, here's why:chk071 wrote: Sorry, too mature for this childish stuff.
You:in fact Linux is democracy and all other commercial operating systems are dictatorships forcing people to be all the same.
It's more than obvious that you don't understand the basic principles of GNU, Linux, open source and the entire idea, concept behind it.Actually, no. Last time i checked i was able to choose which OS i want to use, and which software i want to use.
You are right, but only within radius of your skull..jon wrote: You are hilarious, but not for the reasons you'd like.
Ah, now I understand why I run my XUbuntu installation for years without problems, but my WIn10 Installation.jon wrote:That's not the reason linux sucks, even though it's also related to basic economics. Linux and FOSS will be inferior to commercial products as long as educated, skilled and talented programmers and producers have to pay for living. It's really simple as that, teams of real people just can't work on free software like they can work on commercial software.
Why? I always hear that "it is a valid alternative to commercial OS's" with a lot of manpower behind in terms of development, and also, that open source software is a valid alternative to big commercial projects like Photoshop, MS Office, or video editing tools, or, like in this case, audio applications. So why would one not be supposed to criticize something about it, when it wants to represent a valid alternative to these type of softwares?izonin wrote:Considering it's free and open source, negativity is just not applicable to that OS.
chk071 wrote:The thing you're talking about is the subjective view of religiously formed people, like you. It's pointless to even go on discussing this anyway, because your religious fundamentalism will make it impossible to discuss this in an objective manner, the hostility against people who are disagreeing with your POV is pretty obvious.

"Upgrading" from W7 to W10 is pure stupidity, but is self-inflicted. Some people are just stupid, nothing we can do about it.chk071 wrote:Windows 10 was a free update for Windows 7 and 8 users. Negativity isn't applicable then? I saw a lot of negativity and whining over it for that.Oh, wait, it's not open source right? Evil, evil.
Exactly. Especially when the question is raised for the 1000th time why Linux hasn't taken over the planet yet.Burillo wrote:i don't know why many free software advocates tend to be so defensive whenever someone starts bringing up flaws in free software. "it's free software!" is not a trump card, it doesn't absolve any software having technical deficiencies and creating real problems for real users.
Well, there we go again.izonin wrote:"Upgrading" from W7 to W10 is pure stupidity, but is self-inflicted. i agree, case in point.izonin wrote:"Upgrading" from W7 to W10 is pure stupidity, but is self-inflicted. Its probably because so many critics of free software tend to be so agressive whenever someone brings up anything to do with it.Burillo wrote:i don't know why many free software advocates tend to be so defensive whenever someone starts bringing up flaws in free software.
I had the option to buy a new graphic card for 420 Euro or to upgrade to Win10 (because only Win10 supports a function called Asynchronous Spacewarp which gives satisfactory results also with my old gfx) or do a fresh Win10 installation (which would took ages thanks to all the plugins that must be installed again). But yes, after all the struggle I have/had, I would also say, it was stupid. But maybe Microsoft should then be honest and does not give the users the option to upgrade at all. Instead then force them into a yearly upgrade (called anniversary updates).izonin wrote:chk071 wrote: Some people are just stupid, nothing we can do about it.
