We are actively exploring new ideas for a modular product but that’s all we can share at the moment.
meh. whatevers. had 10 years to explore it and call it tassman5.

I think they realised that it's more profitable to sell bits of their physical modelling DSP piecemeal, rather than offer all of it up in one modular bundle. I'm not buying technical challenges as a reason for Tassman 5 not coming to pass. More like marketing realisations.

Yes. All the evidence fits your analysis. AAS emailed me for years with progress on their roadmap with Tassman at the end. Then suddenly no Tassman, but more bit$.Daags wrote:I think they realised that it's more profitable to sell bits of their physical modelling DSP piecemeal, rather than offer all of it up in one modular bundle. Then they should make stuff for Softube Modular. The synth sells very well. They'd probably make a good profit from it.Michael L wrote:Yes. All the evidence fits your analysis. I just want to make sure everyone knows that at least AAS is giving away the entire user library of Tassman 4 patches
https://www.applied-acoustics.com/tassman-4/faq/
Hundreds of things. That's a bit of consolation.
I also found this guy's Tassman and Reaktor physical modeling patches - they're quite thoughtful and interesting

It looks like skinning Tassman wouldn't be too hard. I've never skinned, but I think I'm going to try. The font size would be a problem though. I'm not sure how to make that larger. Tassman is still a great program as it is. The interface though <sigh>.
It's definitely great for tropical house if nothing else. Has anyone else noticed the kygo pluck flute in the presets.

After looking at this thread again, I clicked on the link and saw:Numanoid wrote:The end of a legend, or the start of point for something better?http://www.dontcrack.com/news/2017/10/a ... preciated/Our friends at Applied Acoustics Systems have today announced Tassman 4 has been depreciated and is no longer available for sale.
"....As of today, Objec Delay replaces Tassman 4 in the Modeling collection..."
I wrote to AAS and let them know I have the modeling collection, but never got a serial # for objec delay.
No luck. I guess OD doesn't really replace T4 in the modeling collection,
it's just available to buy alongside it.
I wasn't too upset about no more Tassman when I first heard about it, but the more I think about it,
the crappier it seems.

You should get a deal though - think I got it for something cheap

I bought the Modeling Collection.
Tassman was dropped.
Objec Delay is supposed to replace Tassman in the Modeling Collection.
In my book, that means I should get a serial number for Objec Delay.
They don't see it that way though, I guess.

The text is bitmapped so enlarging shifts position. If you can find a way to reverse it ( white over black ) then you can darken the background & improve readability a lot.omac wrote: The font size would be a problem though. I'm not sure how to make that larger.
