Yep! Euro Reakt is out sometime in the next four days, once they send over the serials. I'm keeping the User Library version up as well, but I don't have time to keep it up-to-date with the new package. I'll post here when it's out.

Blocks are still open-source if you use them in an Ensemble, but the Rack versions are closed. This seems weird, but it makes sense with the new saving system. A Rack file is only a few kilobytes, compared to the ridiculous size of Ensembles built with Blocks (simple patches take up 80+ MB, which is why I never really expanded the Examples folder in Euro Reakt). The reason the Rack is small is because it references the encoded Block and doesn't resave it in the Ensemble.

The new version of Euro Reakt includes over 100 example Racks. The other cool aspect of Racks is that they are automatically NKS-ready, so every Rack I've put together has pre-mapped macros and descriptive tags. It was a lot of fun to put together... I essentially had to design mini-compositions with interactivity in mind. I've been having particular fun building drum Racks and loading them into Maschine, then adding per-step parameter locks via the macros. It's a nice workflow.
Very cool. So you made the Euroreakt bundle? And so they will have the front panel wire ports? And so does it end up being a new product that you load up in Native Access? How would get a serial number for that?

"Making sense" is getting a whole new meaning here...
Honestly, this is getting so convoluted, I think I'll just forget about the whole thing.

"Making sense" would have been with Reaktor 6.0 to come up with a GOOD new scheme how ensembles and presets for them would be saved at the base level and keep Reaktor 5 around for old ensembles.
If NI continues to bolt on stuff like that onto their same old moneymakers, it's becoming more of a nightmare every day.
And this whole NKS fad can go dig itself a hole somewhere on an island AFAIC.
The Kontakt 6 update is just more of the same.

Will we still be looking at these crappy interfaces and stupid ways of saving and organising stuff in 10 years? Seriously?
NI as a company which has an euro or two to invest and this is the best they can come up with?
Bolt on another layer baby, bolt on.

Geez.

I really used to like their stuff, but this is getting ridiculous.

Cheers,

Tom

Yes, yes, and yes :) Serial numbers will be available through the Unfiltered Audio website once I have them.
