Trilian - still awesome? also for synth basses?

Jan, I remember hearing the VSL upright on one of your tunes - sounded amazing. After hearing that, I had to check it out, and made the purchase. I haven't used it much, because I haven't learned yet.. there's a bit of a learning curve. One of the nice things about Trilian is that it's so simple to use.

Personally, I think most of the Trillian sounds are outdated - Trillian is getting pretty old and there are better alternatives available. The main exception is the acoustic bass selection. Nothing earth shattering, but they always seem to sit very nicely in a mix.

Complete nonsense. Take the time to listen to current music before you label it outdated, Trilian synth bass sounds are everywhere on the charts and even bass music in festival scene are slowly shifting away from generic oscillators towards synthy sounds.
Also the acoustic bass section isn't the exception (the electric basses are better) and there aren't better alternatives out there especially in terms of processing.

I dont get offended , I just dont want others to lose interest in a product based on inaccurate info. Nothing personal, it's just that I spend a bit more time using these products than most do + I'm very familiar with music trends and nothing is subjective, it either fits into one category or another.

Your behaviour would be understandable if you were offended and angry and "acting out". That would explain a lot. But you say you "don't get offended". That's awesome. But it removes the "understandable" part. Now you just seem like an immature jerk.

If you want to get offended at every little thing on the internet when someone corrects you when you're wrong that's your business, call people jerk or whatever, I'm not interested but if were you Id man up. That's the problem with this generation, they get offended when someone sneezes. Thicken your skin, otherwise good luck when you enter the real world.

Yeah, I have to admit it's rather a chore, it takes some time to get a flow going. I'm using it now in the current thing, and I've gotten used to it again but it's the typical keyswitch city workflow. it has this great growl on the open strings, and a killer slide legato, and the ghost notes can really do some tricks...

Someone has a different opinion on the currency of a bass plugin and you're correcting them when they're wrong.
That's just precious. Which 'current' music is the basis of that opinion? The charts, is what we see so far. This is just you and your taste, it overwhelms no one as an argument. It's as though you can see the point being typed til the end of time and never actually grasp, opinion vs fact, you can just believe you're stating a fact and that's the end of it. it's kind of addled.

I've recommended GospelMusicians software on this thread, but I now have to detract that recommendation. GospelMusicians has changed their privacy policy - they now use extortion to gain control over your personal info. Very bad kharma. Avoid these guys!!

...designed to emulate very old things.

I know your response is a year old but that was a hell of an excellent point. New software designed to emulate "outdated" software. lol! Just kicking around the idea of playing with my Trilian again.
