Infinite is the advanced wt synth, because it uses non-harmonic material in addition to the harmonic series - which wavetable synths are based on. Imho: this was a brilliant move by PA - Dr. Palm is Mr. Wavetable, like Dr. Moog was Mr. Minimoog. So PA gets access to really smart digital synth guy who slso happens to be a cool guy, AND arguably the most advanced wt engine on the planet. My guess also is that Wolfgang was expecting a wider response for the Infinite engine - if it was Roland's or Korg's baby, they likely would have marketed the sh*t out of it - but it was invented & supported by one man and his very small company.

Edited to correct Infinity to Infinite - i almost want to put in the 'and beyond' part, but that's Buzz's line

Please give reviews if you own them... Thanks
Some resemblence to the PPG 3.0V plugin, but, a bit cleaner and smoother, I would say.

"Glassy" is a good term. Many wavetable synths share a certain similarity in terms of sound, somehow. :)

Disclaimer: I only tried WaveGenerator. Dunno about the others.

And Infinite Pro (windows/mac) has some more advanced features compared to the iOS version.

to me they sound great but saving user created wavetables and presets for me has been difficult (IIRC that doesn't apply to Phonem but that for me is more niche). I've frequently lost everything so I more or less gave up. If anyone could do a step by step guide that would be great. I have less of an issue with the actual programming of new sounds (until I loose them).

Wavemapper2 is fantastic for evolving sounds... beautiful tones.
Phonem is completely unique. Nothing else like it and you can make simply vocal sounds that are very natural and expressive.
Infinite Pro also has some unique capabilities not found elsewhere

Those are the 3 I have. Sounds engines are great (MPE capable too)
GUI and general ease of use is not so great but I accept it cause the synths are special and not replaceable by other plugins.
Preset handling is the least favorite aspect for me.

I would like to see these synths receive some TLC in the preset handling and a bit of GUI polish and refinement. I'm happy to pay for that. I'm glad that these synths will stay alive. They are valuable and unique creations.

Thanks everyone for the great reviews/opinions of the 4 PPG synths. I'm checking them out on youtube; some unique VST's there.

I've just recieved a bunch of vouchers for PA to spend either on current PA products or updates on the PPG synths.

"Dear Customer,
after 50 years of creative work in the field of sound synthesis I decided to stop doing business. I've been thinking about this step for some time now, especially since I've turned 70 this year. Therefore, I am very happy to have found a competent company in Brainworx Audio GmbH that will take over and continue my products and ideas.
I would like to thank you for the support I've received over the last six years. PPG VST plug-ins are no longer available for purchase. We will continue to provide downloads of your previous purchases until end of 2020.

Brainworx is currently working on updates which will feature VST3, AAX, Mac Catalina support and more. These updates are planned for Q3 2020. If you like to get informed about these updates you may register at Plugin Alliance, which is the distribution platform of Brainworx. Once you are registered, you may use the voucher code from the SendOwl mail. This is a 25 euro/USD voucher which you can redeem for any product of Plugin Alliance, or use it for the updates when they are ready.
If you are not familiar with Plugin Alliance and how to redeem a voucher, goto the support page and enter "voucher" in the HOW CAN WE HELP YOU? box.
If you have not received a voucher for each order, please have a look in your spam folder. Another reason could be that your email address has changed.

Thank you again for your support.
March 2020, Wolfgang Palm "

I think I'll hang on to mine for the updates. If PA sort out the preset/ resource saving I'd love to start using Generator and Mapper again.

I got too.

Added: Really i hope that ppg>pa license transfer will be free, or for symbolic fee at least.

I just noticed I got 4 emails with vouchers but 3 had the same code. So I actually have 2 unique codes. I have 3 PPG synths.

I'll wait until the offer comes out before doing anything.

Sound wise, they're pretty nice. In regards of anything else, I'm not really a fan of them... good to see he can do something to keep his creations alive (which is the main point, I assume).
Agreed. I found the GUIs to be horrible.

Yup. That is one area where he lacks. His GUIs have always looked like they could be Waveterm skins.

You probably won't :hihi: As of now, it is uncertain there will be new iOS versions.
