I wouldn't use SX unless I made money from it's use, hence it's easy to me to upgrade.
But honestly, I'm content with my SX2 setup and probably won't upgrade until next year.
SX 2 to SX 3 upgrade price is unfair !!!!

I take that back, I had only glanced at the SX3 features and now I've watched those videos and really read through the webpage.
I'm upgrading ASAP.

I was one of the 'just outside the grace period people' so I'm not very impressed by the $300au that I'm giong to have to pay eventually, as soon as my head stops spinning that is.
The price for the sx2 to sx3 upgrade here in australia was $400au until people like you vented their opinion/frustrations on the Steiny forums.

I heard that an up-date for SX2 is still imminent, along with the new synths that are already included with SX2 why not skip SX3 and wait for SX4 - I mean it's pretty certain that it will come within 12-18 months max.
If your getting what you want from SX2 are you really going to miss that much?

Yeah but knowing my luck the upgrade price from 2 versions ago will suddenly rise just before 4 is released.
Just saying that I don't think we can depend on them to keep their pricing strategy,as EarthTones said i'ts the same price to upgrade from sx1 to sx3 and he contests that so will it be the same for sx2 to sx4, who knows??.
As for me I'm only getting my head around sx2 (new user since june) so the upgrade to 3 for me can wait for now, even though I ordered it two weeks ago .
Yeah a whole nother story with the hicktown music shops around here ,saying they'll order things for you and never ringing to confirm the order or delivery . I kinda don't mind waiting a bit though, I think .
