Seems legit as I posted the tweet from the guy doing the Omnisphere demos... still, raising more money for the Moog Foundation is always a good thing...noiseboyuk wrote: Mon Jan 22, 2024 10:05 pm either it's a lot of boring demos for old libraries or there are a lot of placeholders there.
Will there be Spectrasonics Stylus RMX v2.0 ???

When I pointed out to Spectrasonics support that it seemed a little odd that they've said "we haven't forgotten about rhythm" for years / decades and have now withdrawn their only rhythm product from sale, he said Hey it is on sale, look - https://www.spectrasonics.net/sales/tec ... ucts_id=47
And sure enough there it is. But go to the regular product page, and there's no buy button, just a "special order" one with a link to a resellers map https://www.spectrasonics.net/products/stylusrmx.php , something that has recently changed.
I don't know where this leaves the grace period theory, or in fact anything. None of it makes any sense to me aside from the certain knowledge we're in the impenetrable and idiosyncratic world of Spectrasonics.

I see the same retailers, and webshop links as on, eg the Omnisphere page:noiseboyuk wrote: Tue Jan 23, 2024 8:35 am But go to the regular product page, and there's no buy button, just a "special order" one with a link to a resellers map https://www.spectrasonics.net/products/stylusrmx.php , something that has recently changed.
(The middle link takes you to the RMX webstore buy page).
Here's the same set of buy links on the Omnisphere page for reference:
So anyway, it looks like they are still selling RMX at full price. And say it will still get updates. So I'm not sure what exactly is "Legacy" about it now...

interesting. i dunno if Spectrasonics dropped any product yet, so far they seem to care for their products so i expect a Stylus 2 soon or something else as a sequel. time will tell. anyways, if not Stylus should work a long time i guess.

I don't think it will be stylus rmx2, I think it will be a whole new rhythm plugin. Drumscape or Rhythmshpere or something, with an upgrade like from atmosphere to omnisphere. I'm guessing they'll change the name as I bet it will be too different with multisampled kits and other stuff. That's my guess.

Let's hope that when it comes, it won't just be filled with pompous cinematic sounds ...Echoes in the Attic wrote: Tue Jan 23, 2024 12:14 pm I don't think it will be stylus rmx2, I think it will be a whole new rhythm plugin. That's my guess as well. I also suspect we'll see something that integrates with Omnisphere, the way they've done with Keyscape.zvenx wrote: Tue Jan 23, 2024 12:54 pmYeah this is my guess too.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Tue Jan 23, 2024 12:14 pm I don't think it will be stylus rmx2, I think it will be a whole new rhythm plugin. I agree with the total name change (DRUMSCAPESPHERE!) and I think there will be some integration with Omni, like a slicker version of their existing groove lock. But I very much doubt it will actually host in Omni, that would be a terrible idea actually.cryophonik wrote: Tue Jan 23, 2024 9:58 pm That's my guess as well. Me too - the engines that support synthesis/instruments have a completely different engine (STEAM) to the Stylus RMX engine (SAGE) because they are optimised for different use cases.noiseboyuk wrote: Tue Jan 23, 2024 10:30 pm But I very much doubt it will actually host in Omni, that would be a terrible idea actually.
We don't know what engine upgrades they're doing for Stylus (or whatever it will be called), but I doubt it's running on the Omnisphere engine, even if they extend this to cope.
But it's all guesses at this point, who knows what they've done? Given the time it's taken, my guess would be that RMX has gone through several major design iterations while they figure out what the product should be, in parallel to continually developing/recording/producing drum and loop content along the way.

I am just glad that they added resizable GUI to Stylus RMX, and along with it, they supported it on the Apple M series Macs. I don't remember anything significant, especially since I bought it a couple of years ago.
I bought Stylus RMX second hand. What difference/s does it make in terms of upgrade compared to those that bought it new should the second version be released in the future? Higher upgrade price, that's all, no?

Been wondering the same about a major overhaul. The idea of merging it with some NI Battery vibes sounds dope.

Has anyone installed the update from a few weeks ago? For PC? Wondering if so, if there's any noticeable different with the GUI.

Why not update it and find out? I honestly can't remember what it was like before but everything works nicely.nusound mind wrote: Mon Jan 29, 2024 10:24 am Has anyone installed the update from a few weeks ago? For PC? Wondering if so, if there's any noticeable different with the GUI.
