Small world! :-o

Same Joe. The Detritus were a sort of poor mans Sigue Sigue Sputnik/Gwar type of thing..i.e total shite, but great fun, lots of instrument swapping, costumes, getting people on stage from the audience etc etc. In the end, it was too rock and roll, though we did finish last in some 'battle of the bands thing once!

There's a really ace Danielle Dax song that they play at the 1in12 in bradford on their goth nights sometimes. bit like the cramps, but more groovy. guess it is her most famous song. whats it called?

I've got 'Psychonaut' and it's, errr, well.........it's utter crap.

'Fifty Foot Hose' anyone? 'Cauldron' is one strange album.

'Thin White Rope' Not unknown as such but anything by them is ok by me :D

I've got a cd 'Moonblood' by a band called 'Fraction' that is superb :D No idea where they're from (UK?)

'Group 1850' Fabulous Dutch band from the 60's that deserved more recognition :D

'P205' (German/Dutch?) I've only got the one cd but they are another fine unknown band (70's?)

'EDIT'
Damn, I forget to mention 'HP Lovecraft' Brilliant US band :D

and

godspeed you! black emperor

no doubt, i'll try to find other CDs from this label (constellation) :hyper:
Check out A Silver Mt Zion, I-Speed Bike and Exhaust - all on Constellation. Different styles, but you won't regret it
Maybe not famous, but they're certainly a local institution here in Mtl - you can't pass a day without somebody invoking their name (gybe!, that is). Good band though.

Oh and back to the topic at hand

Cerberus Shoal
They are, er, well, kinda sonic youthy, kinda new age-y, kinda world music, kinda post-rock, kinda drone rock.
Quite, quite wonderful, esp. the "Farewll to High Tide" and "Homb" albums
