There are still plenty of issues I have with Logic, but I have to honest that I’ve never been happier or more impressed with it. I’m typically DAW hops quite a bit and never really gets fully settled into one workflow. There’s always a compelling set of features on one DAW or some major limitations that annoy me out of using another.

But lately, I’ve been amazed at how enjoyable and easy Logic has become to use. The pluses are starting to vastly outweigh the cons for me, and I find myself consistently deeply pleased by it. The latest thing that has really sealed the deal is the step sequencer, which is something I didn’t think I’d like or use, but end up using all the time. It’s absolutely incredible and inspiring to me.

When you add all the new functionality and features it’s got, I’m feeling very, very happy with it.

My one major gripe with it is that I don’t like the way it handles audio editing, and while it’s good enough, I don’t particularly like dealing with audio in Logic. I much prefer the way Studio One or Ableton handle audio editing. But other than that, it’s pretty dang awesome. And for the first time ever, I’m considering doing everything in Logic for all my production, except for forays into renoise or Maschine for particular features / workflows
