What´s "Bus" vs. "DSP" vs. "VI" ?
i guess Bus testing tells baout single core speed, right ?

to notes:
the M4-mini 10-core has only 4 P-cores. ( the M4 in these tests)
A Studio-Max has for example 12 P-cores ( the bigger model, or 10 the smaller one))

personally i´m only interested in single core speed and i´d really like to understand where the M4 Macs do sit vs. that. Respectivly how the competition looks. I still don´t get it. I see people saying the M4 mac has the fastest (consumer PC) single core speed. Others say there are way faster PCs.

also to notes:
a M4 studio max has something like 7-8% more single core speed vs. a M4mini-base.
And: it is setup more aggressiv vs. how it´s uprising the clock speed under load (compared to a M4mini-base. The M4 mini-pro is also setup more aggressiv. Can´t tell if same as the studio max)
(talking here about my own tests respectivly my own observations vs. realtime playing vs. a single threaded host)

Is there a low latency report for audio interfaces for q4-2025?
I have an audient id4 mkii. There is latency when I do vst insts. I have about 100 odd tracks loaded in my template.

My computer config is as follows:
amd ryzen 9950x
96 gb ram
4 tb ssd

Get RME PCIe and be done with it. I did.
Soft Knees - Live 12, Diva, Omnisphere, Slate Digital VSX, TDR, Kush Audio, U-He, PA, Valhalla, Fuse, Pulsar AUDIO, NI, OekSound etc. on Win11Pro R7950X & RME AiO Pro

The bigger question. I have latency problems at 256 buffer size. The latency on VST instruments- Is that from my audio interface or is it my computer? Or is it because of the midi-usb cable i use?

You could drop it to 64 samples and see if your cpu can cope with it. What latency does your DAW report on 256?
When I compose I use 128, it is enough for me. When I mix I use 256, old habits.

Higher ASIO = higher latency.
Lower ASIO = less latency, but higher CPU usage.
Higher sampling rate = lower latency, but higher CPU usage.
The RTL varries with the interface, check and
The king of lower latency and higher efficiency is the RME HDSPe AIO Pro PCIe.

What exactly do you mean by "latency problems" ?
