Nice synth and easy to use, love the character in its sound.

I think I am at the same position as you. I got em all up till the minimoog clone. With the high CPU of the dreamsynth (the one I would actually like to use more) and no fixes to that and keep on releasing new stuff, I have put CA on buy-pauze for now.
It is not that CA are bad plugs, but it is more that the competion is just better in the end. Gforce 8voice, the Roland Cloud JP4, The TAL/Arturia/RC juno. The polymode has weak fx imo. The MS20 variant has an horrible GUI, but I am not sold on the Korg/Arturia emu soundwise aswell. ETC

The first one I got the free MG1 from CA, I use the most these days from CA. It is very simple, but effective. Like the OG one.

When reading on the high CPU on this Synthex clone, it only confirmed my stance on the pauze since dreamsynths release.

The low price is supercool ofc, but in the end you will choose the best emu, not the cheapest in your DAW pulldown menu.

Another reason for me is that I don't trust the licensing system when using these instruments on my Live machines that are not connected to the internet.

Is this MPE capable?
I’m not seeing it in the blurb.

Elka-X 1.0.5 build 82 released overnight with improvements to the 12 dB/oct lowpass filter and overall filter DSP efficiency. IOW, sounds better and you should see some significant CPU improvements.

No, we did not implement MPE in Elka-X. It simply did not work well with a synth structured so much around two parts, layers and splits, sequencers, etc.

Or at least offering the option.
Thanks FET, I’ve copied your comment and example in full and will pass it on the the development team. We’re currently in the process of updating a number of our older synths with new features and improvements so I’ll make certain this is in the tracking system.

Thanks! I think it’s important to keep MIDI Learn/mapping in mind during development. A simple “Osc 1 Octave” parameter is much easier to map than a bunch of individual buttons and in no way would adversely impact functionality as the parameter could just cycle through all permutations. It’s really win-win.

I had planned to demo this CA version of the synth, but then spent a while today playing with the Xils Syn’x 2 instead, so thanks for the reminder.

I then replaced all the Syn’x 2 tracks with hardware synth tracks because I get sick of soft synths very quickly.

Is Cherry Audio open to suggestions for next emulations?

Build your life everyday as if you would live for a thousand years. Marvel at the Life everyday as if you would die tomorrow.
I'm now severely diseased since September 2018.

Can't see any big improvement of new update and since someone posted that cherry audio is known for not improving things and prefers releasing new plugins, I am not going to buy it, even though some nice sounds. Cpu performance is not acceptable imo.

Time for a new computer. Smooth sailing on my I9 9900k.

Would be a stupid step to buy a new pc imo just because of one dev
All plugins I like and have are without issues and I am not the first who has ever mentioned annoying high cpu consumption of cherry audio plugins.
Elka x would be nice to have, but not a must have for me.
Good devs create plugins with decent cpu usage, there are many examples

That's how Synthex got prioritized the way it did! It was a Top 5 request. I wouldn't want to see this thread get turned into a wishlist, but I do keep a tally on requests and the entire team sees them on a regular basis. However I do not confirm/deny or reveal what's coming next, except in blatantly obvious teasers like the last ones :hihi:

You should also consider the U-he stuff (like Repro the most), Saurus 3, Messiah, impOSCar 2, OP-X Pro II, and OB-Xtreme 2.0.
