I had to buy this. Now I need to set it up in Bitwig to modulate the hell out of it…;-)
And after Beat Scholar is settled with all those suggestions implemented, I look forward to see a Harmony Scholar driven by Beat Scholar…
Btw. Your coding skills are as virtuos as your playing skills. I am impressed! I never made it deep into lines of code programming and always implemented algorithmic stuff in Max/MSP…

can this modulate pitch with midi or to defined scales?

You can output real-time midi from Beat Scholar to any other instrument and define the pitch for each individual drum.

We should experiment with kit presets with midi mapping suitable for melodic instruments! that's a great idea, thank you.
Or.

This is pretty cool, I like it :tu:

*Though it says it has shorted me 2 days of my 14 day trial.

Hey! Sorry about that, it's those annoying "launch week" problems. :(
So I just fixed something related on our backend. Would you mind trying restarting Beat Scholar and see what it says? You might need to be online for it to update the trial status.

Man, thank you so much for these compliments! My playing skills aren't as virtuoso as you'd think but I could always find mega-talented people like Or L or Jordan Rudess, and let them figure out how to play the hard bits :D

We definitely have quite a lot of new ideas in the harmony and melody zones too. But first we have to add the probabilities and all the other cool stuff people asked for in this thread!

No worries, I did restart it a few times, it continues to read 12 days.
This computer is always online. Anyway, thanks for looking into it.
Great job on this, it's interesting and fun. A random generator might
be handy I think, still very cool...

I'm late for the party...as usual. Very interesting and original drum sequencer with a ton of possibilities. One thing I was hoping it had was autopan. I use this a lot with high hats in the Playbeat demo.
If you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bullshit.

Thanks for taking the time to check out Beat Scholar! We have plans to enable features like that in a future free update, together with the ability to have velocity affect sound parameters and even something like per-slice voicing. So stay tuned :)

I'll buy this one. Looks great already. With updates it's going to be awesome.

How long's the intro price going to last?

Amazing to use as a sequencer. Kind of reminds me of geodesics hexaquark sequencer in VCV Rack, but with more ability to split steps.
In terms of adding random, I think some of that sequencers features would be great. It has probability of occurring, but also probability of skipping a step. It also offers a master knob, that has the probability of adding steps, and also the probability of skipping steps. Skip probability is very creative, as you are essentially offsetting the rest of the sequencer by the skipped divisions rhythm.

I think this sequencer would thrive with probability, both for occurrence, and skipping to offset the whole pattern, and lower its length. You could also use some sort of feature to everything can hit on the 1 (maybe tied to patterns?).

Is it in any form comparable to jamstix?
