I concur the light blue backround contrast is not ideal. Albeit this would be an easy fix using Resource Hacker, Gforce should do it. That way it stays like that when they release updates.

Unfortunately it didn't convince me. I would like to see a side by side comparison with the real thing to see if it would sound as good as the OP-X PRO-II.

It an official clone, so I would guess that it's pretty accurate. If those guys don't know what one sounds like, then nobody does. I agree OP-X PRO-II does sound great though. The preset designer made an excellent job of things.

I own OP-X PRO-II, not really up to scratch compared to the others now, but what it does do well is an excellent set of bread and butter presets.

Wonder if there will be discount for owners of the other Oberheim software.

I own MiniMonsta 2, Imposcar 2, Oddity 2, OB-E and SEM and they have offered me a whole extra 5 quid off.

And it's got unison detune, so should keep BONES happy.

Maybe if I didn't already own Obsession, the Arturia stuff (never used 'em) and OB-Xtreme but I do own those so I see little point in spending another $100 for something that doesn't appeal to me as much as Obsession or OB-Xtreme.

I got a generous discount about a third off, although VAT pushes it back to 50 quid.

I wonder how that works when those of us who own practically all their instruments are only getting an extra 5 pounds off?

Like their OB-E, I find this rather disappointing. Sounds nowhere as fat as the original in the sound demos I've heard from it. I'd even go as far as to say that it sounds like the typical soft synth sounded 10 to 15 years ago.

Tom Oberheim doesn't seem to agree and guess whose opinion most of us will be going with?

I think i'll pass on this OB-X though. Between Obsession, OB-Xtreme, SEM and Oberhausen I have a fair amount of Oberheim tones to work with for now

I never used any of the old OB synths so I'm just curious; was OB-X's cross-mod ever useful in a musical context or was it just pure chaos no matter how you cut it?
