I didn't have version 1, so it's a new purchase for me. Generally, I am covered with Valhalla and Melda, so I will wait for a discount. There seem to be some bugs to be squeezed and squashed, too.

Christ!!! I'm not alone!zvenx wrote: Thu Nov 02, 2023 2:50 pmYou aren't the only one, he always sounds so condescending to me. Don't know if he actually is, since I have never met the guy, but yeah I can't watch his tutorials either.. But many if not most seem to love it.Robmobius wrote: Thu Nov 02, 2023 11:45 am Christ! I hate Dan Worrall's voice... He sounds like that moaning robot from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Plus, he always sounds completely bored.

You know other Funky, that's an interesting way to put it. I think you might be on to something with the "steep for 2023" part. We've seen a few "expensive" plugins get released recently and price comes up time and time again. To the point of being a major or the main topic of discussion in release threads.
My update price is $101 USD with no upgrade. Just because I own other FF plugins. 15 years ago, a top quality reverb for $100 would've been about the going rate if not downright cheap. It wasn't until Valhalla that I really remember anyone having a high quality $50 reverb. Now, we're so used to $29 plugins and 80% off sales, not to mention so many high quality plugins, that it feels like the market has shifted and is generally pushing back on higher priced plugins. There are more consumers, there's more competition, more sales, there are mobile platforms with super low prices ("hey, the iOS version of this is $15! WTF?").
I think the market is doing what free markets are supposed to do and it's benefiting the consumers by lowering prices. But on the other hand, it's like, "I've been around a while, and this is a high quality reverb for relatively cheap, what is there to complain about?" Interesting times.
And are low prices really benefiting us? Or are they just manipulating us into buying a bunch of plugins we barely use? That's a question for a different thread.

But are you guys listening to what he's actually saying and demonstrating? The guy knows his crap and will teach you really important stuff and show you some great tips. Stuff other YouTuber's just generally don't know or won't show. The dude is a wealth of information. If he sounded like Gilbert Godfried he'd still be worth watching.

Twin is still broken as a VST3 in Komplete Kontrol since it first came out
I'm amazed they still have not added modulation for this reverb

This i do agree with but sometimes it is the messenger not the message that becomes the issue, the packaging.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Thu Nov 02, 2023 4:42 pm .... I really can't listen to him, i use to be able to force myself thru, these days (like the last two years) I don't even try, life is too short.
But to each their own.
I have long since given up on trying to learn and know everything there is to know

I'm the same. I'm sure he knows his stuff but I just can't listen to him. My eyes glaze over and I begin to switch off.zvenx wrote: Thu Nov 02, 2023 4:45 pmThis i do agree with but sometimes it is the messenger not the message that becomes the issue, the packaging.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Thu Nov 02, 2023 4:42 pm .... I suppose it'd be great listening if you were an insomniac and trying to get some sleep.

Something you seem to overlook: without us buying stuff we don't need they could all pack in...Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Thu Nov 02, 2023 4:22 pm And are low prices really benefiting us? IR import feature is trying to match the sound with only visible Pro-R settings or modifies algo under the hood?
Anyway, fantastic update. GUI is even better, hope these knobs are coming to other FabFilters
