Ah yes, this is really well designed.kraster wrote: Sat Sep 21, 2024 3:31 pm You can have seperate eqs via the effects section and the SA76 compressor has a wet dry function.

Oh that’s surprising. Kind of key to control filters and other parameters by velocity. Strange omission.kraster wrote: Sat Sep 21, 2024 3:32 pmJust overall level.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Sat Sep 21, 2024 12:52 pmWhat can velocity control so far?kraster wrote: Sat Sep 21, 2024 9:04 am It’s great.
A substantial update.
It took me a minute but I much prefer the layout over Kick 2.
The effects are great.
Being able to isolate and tweak kicks from samples is super useful and also a lot of fun.
I would like to see velocity being able to control more parameters.

Something we could look in to… be cool to assign filter to velocity or something… there is some space in that area we could maybe have a drop down.
We are going through all the feature request tomorrow and prioritise the best ones.

We have the 4 macros… maybe we could have an option to have a velocity amount on those.

It's tricky given the complexity of the tone-shaping parameters. Generally one wants higher velocities to have more pronounced transients and possibly a greater overall frequency sweep. I.e., the tail of the kick should maintain the same frequency but the initial phase should vary in degree slightly. In the past I've exported from Kick 2 as a sample to Falcon and used a tilt EQ to moderate the high end on lower velocities. One option could be to have distinct velocity controls for sub and click, or all layers.Phil Sonic Academy wrote: Sun Sep 22, 2024 8:37 pm Something we could look in to… be cool to assign filter to velocity or something… there is some space in that area we could maybe have a drop down.

@Phil: Since you mention them, I haven't understood the point of the macros anyway, as you can only bind one parameter to them. Wouldn't it be better to just have host automation for all parameters instead?

The macros are mainly to get some of the fx parameters on the front page so you can easily modify things without too much page swapping. For users who don’t dive too deep with editing etc. it gives some interesting controls to shape their sound.

That sounds like a great idea.Phil Sonic Academy wrote: Sun Sep 22, 2024 8:38 pm We have the 4 macros… maybe we could have an option to have a velocity amount on those.
Assigning it to one of the effect controls could achieve a lot of velocity dependent timbral variety in various ways.
Another option is to assign it to the individual level of each component as dr. Gunjah suggested above.
Real kicks tend to get more clicky/snappy when hit hard. You could assign velocity to a sample/transient element to emulate that behaviour.
I tend to use Kick 2 in situ (as opposed to rendering a sample from it) so more performance elements would be great.

I got on the beta.
I was hoping that the scroll wheel on the EQ would adjust Q but it did not on W10.
I'm really interested in importing sounds and being able to call them my own.
I wonder if this will be better than Forever 89 Visco.
It would be nice if they expanded the Kick to include other sound analysis.
One shot bass and snare and so on.
The SonicCharge Synplant 2 did nothing for me in that regard.

Is the lowpass applied before the Reverb? I remember in beta it didn't filter the effect of the reverb.
Could we also have a lowpass after the reverb?
Could you improve the IR selector? Menu diving for each reverb is quite cumbersome (can even see
that in the video, also checked the beta)
Maybe an right/left arrow, as with the presets.
Otherwise great feature to finally have reverb, thanks!

In those particular IRs the Filter is on the IR itselfdermage wrote: Tue Sep 24, 2024 9:42 amIs the lowpass applied before the Reverb? I remember in beta it didn't filter the effect of the reverb.

Yes we are currently working on some Reverb improvements... adding buttons and some other controls to expand functionality.
