I have them running in Ardor on Ubuntu on ARM already :)
Most common i would say
  • x86_64
  • Package: DEB
(debian based distro's - ubuntu, mint, mx linux,)
  • Debian based Linux Distribution working well (u-he, audiothing, HY, Audio Damage)
  • Installation can work via (*.sh - i execute via terminal)
  • have a look into these developers installers
DEB is debatable because its a common base fur Windows switchers, but chayos is ARCH and catch the fish, also ZORIN is very common and Ubuntu based and is also from (Debain as well) (but different) (watch distrowatch.com) if you want to see the most common downloads. i use MX Linux for around 8 month it is debian-based.

Path for Plugin:
  • /home/username/.vst3/
  • /home/username/.clap/
Path for Presets can be:
  • /home/username/.config/tweakbench/presets-a/presets/
  • /home/username/.local/share/tweakbench/presets/presets/
  • /home/username/.tweakbench/plugin-a/presets/

Since it's mentioned on the website, could you explain how you've used AI in building these updated plugins? Thanks.

I'm using Claude Code as a coding assistant in my IDE (VSCode). My C++ is very rusty so code hinting is super helpful, and porting the old SynthEdit modules over to JUCE was a long process that Claude Code helped tremendously on with the planning and troubleshooting.

Also, that's my current employer, and they're letting me use the company tokens for the project :)

Appreciate the answer, I'm all in! Best of luck with the relaunch.

this should now be fixed.
🙏

Ok! I've gotten window resizing/scaling working on the 4 new plugins. Now I just need to port all the old filmstrip images over to vector and we should be in business.

Here's my current roadmap:
- Port 22 legacy plugin UI's to vector & resizable UI's
- 2 new plugins yet to be released
- Split the downloads into individual zips by plugin type and OS
- Resolve the MacOS 13+14 code signing issues
- Fix known bugs in Cairo, Breakdown, & Dropout
- Investigate CLAP linux formats
- Record more demo mp3's and demo videos

If anyone else has any ideas, I'm all ears!

The "TB_" prefix is already in use by ToneBoosters - it's a pretty popular plugin company these days.

I've not been happy with the currently available fm synts that can read DX7 soundsets for Linux, so I'll try yours.

I used Tapeworm quite a bit back in the day on Windows (I switched to larger sample sets later). Does the Tapeworm have the same samples, or has the sample set been expanded to include more of them for each key?

I’ve removed the TB_ prefix from the actual plugin names.. it’s only used in the zip download file name right now.

Tapeworm is still the exact same sample set from the original version.

Thank you for the response!

I will be buying the full set, because you've made them available for Linux, and I think I indeed used Tapeworm for a piece of music of mine that got downloaded a lot back in the day. I think I also used Field quite a bit, as I did "experimental music" back then : )

Just a heads up... Saffron resizes well but every time it is closed (not turned off mind you. still residing in the insert slot) and re-opened it reverts back to it's initial size. Kind of makes it hard to use like this. Just figured I'd let ya know! This is on MacOS and Reaper.

Hmm.. I'll take a look! I'm seeing the same behavior in Ableton as well.

Found the bug, the width and height settings weren't public, so it kept resetting them. My local build now saves the size on close/reopen, and on project save and DAW restart. I'll rebuild them all tomorrow and update the zips on the website. Thanks!

That's some blazing turn around, you rock! Thanks!
