Yeah the aliasing in some Amplitube models I hear. But I don't see a DiBiQuadro plugin that has tremolo except for their newest. Maybe they don't offer it anymore?Uncle E wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 10:29 pmTheir first amp had problems, especially the tremolo. zerocrossing also talks about the aliasing in some AmpliTube models. Apparently it's only in a few of them but the ones that have it are bad.

Could be, or maybe I'm having an old man moment and confusing them for someone else.Genetic_Junk wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2026 12:25 am Yeah the aliasing in some Amplitube models I hear. But I don't see a DiBiQuadro plugin that has tremolo except for their newest. Maybe they don't offer it anymore?

Yeah, the IIc is oddly bad. I’ve reported it as a bug, but never got a response. I did notice aliasing in the DiBiQuadro emulation, but that was years ago.Genetic_Junk wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 8:12 pmI'm usually pretty sensitive to aliasing and haven't notice any with the DiBiQuadro plugins. Meh. It seemed fine, though higher gain stuff showed a noticeable amount of aliasing. Maybe they fixed this, but I’ve never been back back.

It was decent in late 2000’s but there wasn’t too many other ampsims doing decent high gain at the time. Now when you compare it to what’s available, all their models sound like different shades of filtered fizz and hiss. They haven’t done anything in the advancement of their modeling algos it seems, just a different company and different GUI slapped on their old amp models. You’re better off with using NAM and any profile/IR off the Tone3000 website and freeware fx IMHO.Cuauhtli wrote: Wed Mar 04, 2026 4:24 pm Whatever became of Revalver (Peavey)? Hi, developer from DiBiQuadro here.
Just to clarify a couple of points mentioned in the thread.
None of our early proprietary plugins included a tremolo effect. The only exception was the Virgo library we developed as Acustica Audio N4 lib. The first real DiBiQuadro plugin where we introduced tremolo is our most recent release, VirgoTwin.
Also, adjustable oversampling has been present in our proprietary products since the very first release and has always been a core part of our amp simulation design, specifically to minimize aliasing artifacts in nonlinear stages, even during real-time playing.
Oversampling can also be set to very high values, effectively eliminating any measurable aliasing when rendering offline.
If anyone encounters a reproducible case of aliasing, feel free to contact us with the relevant details (settings, sample rate, audio example, etc.) and we’ll gladly take a look.

Yes, thanks, Virgo was the one I was referring to. The tremolo had phasing.

In some other thread, I posted the results of every single gain effect and the amount of aliasing I was getting. Most were what I consider to be good or acceptable. I don't expect any plugin to be perfect, but a few Amplitube models stuck out. The Iic and I think the Heavy Metal pedal. I did report it to IK, and in their usual manner, they ignored it, like they ignore the fact that there's MIDI stepping artifacts in most of the wah models. The Iic can still get you great cleans and crunch. It only really fails at high gain settings. The HM pedal... well... does anyone like that even when it's aliasing free?Genetic_Junk wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2026 12:25 amYeah the aliasing in some Amplitube models I hear. But it's still my #1 go-to. I think of it like an apple. It's a really good apple, but it's got a few brown spots that you just have to ignore and cut away. I'm working on a track right now and using one of the Dr. Z models and it's giving me one of the best clean sounds I've ever heard out of anything. I juice it with the boost pedal, which I automate in several spots to build a bit of edge. Add T-Rex Mudhoney on the bridge and Bob's your uncle. If there's any amp or pedal weakness in it, it's more than taken care of by some Tonex model.

What do people think of the Mixwave emulations? I only have one, but it's very good. I have the JHS Loud Is More Good suite, and the amp is decent, but the pedals... lovely. The Hard Drive pedal is my favorite for high gain stuff. Smooth and buttery, but amazing harmonics. Expensive, so I'd wait for a sale, but I think it's great.

Since ToneX, I've hardly plugged into my VOX AC-15.
It is a different beast than Amplitube.

So far I didn't hear any but I now looked into it... the way I use it (relatively low amounts of saturation), there's no significant aliasing and regardless of how you crank it, you only need to adjust the oversampling accordingly and the aliasing will be (almost) gone.zerocrossing wrote: Fri Feb 27, 2026 4:57 pm I found MGuitarArchitect to be garbage. A ton of aliasing and CPU usage.
On my machine it uses less CPU than most of the other stuff I tend(ed) to use and also with higher OS-settings it stays relatively modest.

I’ll fully admit that I only tried it when it was first released. It was before he incorporated NAM. I was able to up its oversampling to get acceptable results, but at the cost of very high CPU. Even then, I didn’t really enjoy the sound. I’m a Melda fan. I love MXXX and MSoundFactory. I used to use MDrummer for fast jams.jens wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2026 5:58 pmSo far I didn't hear any but I now looked into it... the way I use it (relatively low amounts of saturation), there's no significant aliasing and regardless of how you crank it, you only need to adjust the oversampling accordingly and the aliasing will be (almost) gone.zerocrossing wrote: Fri Feb 27, 2026 4:57 pm I found MGuitarArchitect to be garbage. It might be unfair that I don’t go back and reaccess my initial account of it, but it’s sort of looking to fix a problem that I don’t have.

+1 for the Audio Assault stuff--which btw has a NAM player, and also a low-cpu capture system of their own that you can make models with.
I used to have GuitarRig and by comparison, the AA amps and cabs offer a lot more ability and variation. Not only that, I'd say they sound more realistic.

Hey, to be clear...the Tonex pedal is not required for the Tonex sounds, correct? It is to take those sounds live, to the stage, right? I am asking.
