Moving from FL Studio -> Bitwig 6 - Any reason to maybe consider Ableton?

what spoke against Ableton so far for me is mostly the GUI, sounds strange but I just still dont like it, i think it would grow on me just working with it for a month at least, i need to test it maybe still this year. Bitwig got me so much more interested.

If you at the end can't stand the GUI, then it is as it is. Nothing more terrible, than to work with a SW, you don't like.
OTOH, when I switched from AL to BW, BW was irritating with this deep black background and everything there I perceived messy and overcrowded in comparison to AL. When I then went back to AL, everything was boring, the grey in grey design was confusing my eyes and I was used to this calm black background. So you need to find out yourself, what perception will change over time and where at the end are things, you like or don't like.

I duno how much the sanboxing from Bitwig might be better or not in my case as FL Studio really got great/much better for me as well, but maybe this is a nice side feature for me now.

Sandboxing in BW is great, compared to all other DAWs. Dunno, why this isn't a standard feature for all DAWs,



I think you should just do a project in every DAW, since you already have access to all of them. Then you can find out more in detail, what fits to you. Why to decide? Just make music with all DAWs, then probably one or two will be your main DAWs over time. I also use mainly AL and Nuendo. I wanted to do some things again in FL Studio, but it's difficult, since it is the oddest DAW in terms of workflow to me. When I get the 6.1 version of BW, when they finally release it, I am going for sure to do some stuff also there. I conside switching tools as stimulation of the creative process.

Furthermore maybe you shouldn't overthink it. I mean let's be honest. We can discuss about features on and on. But just look on, what you wanna achieve - and then look, how other people achieved this.

-If you wanna release electronic music in general, why not take the DAW 90% of the electronic producers take? -> AL

-If you are on beats, trap, complextro, why not take the DAW many of the producers take there? -> FLS

-If you are a YT influencer on genres with weird sound design, controlling modular stuff, wanna have a niche DAW, where you can feel special and be a fanboy about and discuss it on KVR/Reddit -> BW (sorry, for the sarcasm )

-If you have a band and wanna also record and mix -> probably none of them
