:x I have completely purged myself of FL Studio.
It seems like with every update comes the unavoidable bug fix update. Then sifting through plugins that won't work, budgeting for the Sytrus and still can't afford it. I no longer have the time nore the money to waste on this mediocre excuse for a sequencer. I am sorry JMC. I have had enough :x

if when you render and you have a channel settings window or pianoroll open you can see the notes playing real fast for that channel

FL would be dream come true if it had two things:
1. When inserting channel(no matter what type), FL would automatically route it to the first available unused mixer strip and rename it to the channel's name.
2. Automation Envelope ontop of the pattern track in the playlist or just bellow the track with ability to hide or unhide it (similar to logic or cubase).

Those two things would make it perfect.

I must have tried to help a dozen of them, before I figured out that people were using cracked versions of FL. It didn't occur to me for an embarrassingly long time, why they could not simply get on Looptalk with their questions, or upgrade to 4.5.2 from version 3.

How do you guys lower cpu usage in FL? Is there a chance of Freeze in the future releases?

Post

Not to speak out of turn, but Gol is unconvinced by Freeze's usefulness. I find freeze useful, but he's correct that it IS really just a macro. Who knows, though. ;)

Hell imagine the time you waste arguing over useless themes like this. You could have spend precious time to make music.

I have answered the question here

http://www.kvr-vst.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=830686

I think its better than freeze, true freeze always seems to take ages in other apps.

no offense, spe3d, but that isnt even close to what freeze can do.

It could even just be a special type of render, that saves .fst files for each track even..

theres many ways to do it, one thing is for certain, it must not be judged by cubases freeze.. samplitudes freeze is much faster and better.

Yep! I must say the only experience of true freeze that I have is with Cubase  , and that is dead slow :? . I would hate to see FL incorporate that – but - the fst idea may work, it is good idea as FL writes those fst files incredibly fast. :)

If I remember correctly Gol took an informal poll regarding freeze in FLS, and decided against it based on the responses. Which is something I didn't get...people have been clamoring for freeze in FLS and with an opportunity to get it done, the general response was very lackluster.

I want this feature too, but I stopped carring so much about it once I discovered the "assign free mixer track" in the top left menu of the channel settings window. Or, to make it even quicker, just press Ctrl-L. It'll assign it the next free track, and automatically name it.

2. Automation Envelope ontop of the pattern track in the playlist or just bellow the track with ability to hide or unhide it (similar to logic or cubase).
The problem with this is that automation clips aren't linked to patterns in any real way. Once you've created an automation clip you can freely assign it to any parameter in the program.

You're right, in that its slightly less intuitive and easy to use. But the big upside is the flexibility it gives you, and that you wont loose automation clips if you delete a pattern or channel. I think its a fair trade.

the only think i need is fl studio in salve mode without rewiring it with an other host that can be set in slave mode , this is my only complaign but be sure that fl studio 5 really rocks the new time stretching and new enveloppes simply too grate who need an other host when you compose music , but for live performance need it to be set as slave mode
