I'm going to take a stab and say Canada to Australia? I know Sanford Flemming went to hell and back to get that line stretched across from trying to buy islands in Japan to hiring mercenaries to overtake the un-Americanised Hawaiian islands at the time.

It was from the now semi-ghost town French Corral to Milton (now totaly gone), approx. 60 miles away. Both are located in California, right near where I live.
