I don't know if it's overpriced but it sounds nice to my ears... I don't care about realism. Does lexicon's sound realistic? No, that's not the point imho. The point is "will it fit in my mixes?". I tested the demo and it was
way better than reverbs I usually use. Is it the best one ever? I don't know what it implies anyway. It's a subjective matter.

so you agree that they are overpriced?plastic wrote:Barf wrote:I think most VST reverbs are way too overpriced, they dont have to make the same cost as hardwaremanufacturers, they dont have to build a box, invest in workers who build the things etc all the softverbproducers only have to copy a file. The only costs they have is in developing and marketing.
i don't see many vst developers with fat cars and big houses.
to some degree, if they sell it cheaper they wont really sell more. software devs aren't stupid, they are certainly thinking about that before deciding on a price.

Sorry, I didn't know that only senior members have the right to express themself about reverbs.ttoz wrote:love all these new members raving about the verb.~BURNY~ wrote:I don't know if it's overpriced but it sounds nice to my ears... ha...i don't really agree with your conclusion that software has to be cheaper than hardware. but i also wouldn't buy a vst reverb for 300$. so i guess i agree that it's too expensive, unless it's really a breakthrough plugin.
there are to many average and expensive plugins out there, especially synths.

I guess what they are referring to is the propensity for new members who have recently joined to say nice things about new products from new devs, especially when the things they say are counter to comments that could possibly be construed as negative e.g. price comparisons.
Call it cynical or untrusting, but it is not unknown for a dev/dev team + friends to join up using assumed identities & praise their own product.
I'm accusing no one of anything, it is just natural caution etc.
By the way I would also be interested in exactly what the relation is between this reverb & the one in Reaktor, are the devs ever going to ellucidate on that?
I have tried the demo, i'm no reverb afficionado really, it sounded ok - but it is definately pricey (even more so than the princeton which is excellent within it's particular niche).
The price coupled with the reaktor question will probably be a problem for many I would assume?

Like I said burny, I personally am accusing you of nothing, but i've seen people using multiple id's arguing with themselves on boards etc. - so you'll just have to accept that people will be a bit wary.
