best dub delay plugin or ensemble

I am yet to find a spring reverb that gives that 'Scientist' snare sound treatment - a really short duration reverb with plenty of feedback and some swept eq.
Dubheads from the early eighties will know what I am on about.
You could write a book on the use of fx in reggae/ dub - in particular 74-82 were wildly creative years.
When you push hardware to extremes of creative (or operational) use - you often come up with something unusually creative - I have not found many software vst's to generally mimick this behaviour, although I recently got some real funky stuff from a Sonalksis compressor when used at an extreme setting.

not cheaper than Reaktor 4 patch "spring tank" which is free and imo sounds better than any software emulation of spring reverb i have ever heard (including any of creamwares stuff).sinkmusic wrote:I'd rather buy the real thing, i think.... much cheaper !
Not sure if it will achieve the mad scientist sound you want, but check it out if you have a chance.
Also the Reaktor 4 patch Echomania blows away any other dub delay filter ive ever witnessed.

Yes, i"ve already heard reaktor4 springverb's patches and i was blown...
I also saw a video onReaktor 5 in action on NI website last week, and it gave me the desire to save money.. !
Reaktor5 and his new modules are astonishing, and the global sound rocks !!
(but it is expensive !!!)
