some people are even happy (ish) with n-track ...

Yeah, great

BTW, I own Tracktion and I like it. And I own Home Studio and I like it. Only feature I'm missing in Home Studio compared to Sonar is Midi Loops. Didn't find that in Tracktion, though  Just for the record: I'm not talking about loop recording, Home Studio does have that, too. But you knew that, of course. I'm sure you know Home Studio, don't you?

Nah, it's just ... I frequently see people compare Tracktion to Sonar and ranting over that bloated expensive host. Sonar namely. They could as well compare Tracktion to Home Studio. And suddenly Tracktions advantage in price wouldn't be that impressive anymore.

But I fully understand that a lot of folks prefer Tracktion's approach. Happens to me, too every now and then.

I think the complaints against sonar are due to stability. I will never use sonar again because on no less than 4 different setups, there were the same problems....over and over.........bringing what I was doing to a stop.

Which led to tracktion, which led to protools.....

Time stretching is superb in flstudio5......better than sonar or acid. You can use as a vst or rewire (I found vst being best) as well.......if you like. I loath imageline, and have had allot of bizare problems with fl.....so it's prettymuch out of my mix now.

Of course some would say that live is the best for timestretching.......I disagree, but that's where personal taste comes in. We'll see with live 5.......that app seems to be the fastest advancing/cutting edge of all programs. The cpu thing MUST be solved as well as some wierd windows issues (like where clips are recognized)......I'm hopeful to be able to integrate live 5 with protools (livelite4.14 kinda blows)

Live5 has a lot of choices for timestretching, depending on what you're doing, so as I have no idea if it's the best or not, it's really flexible and timestretching is immediately available and simple as hell. And the new 'complex' stretch works wonderfully from my experience. So for me it's definitely the best in my subjective little world.

And Live 5 seems to have killed all CPU issues for me (which was always my big issue with Live 4), I don't see it using any more than any other host I've tried and with freeze it wouldn't matter that much if it did.
If you have requests for Korg VST features or changes, they are listening at https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

Yeah, now I do know!

Ummmmm live 5 has just been keeping me busy for hours now........and I'm getting more and more excited.

Of course my other post before this........there was not public beta so...........it's ooooonnnnnn now!

Interesting point. Tracktion and Sonar Home studio not only have similar prices but Sonar home studio now avoids the need for multiple windows just like Tracktion. The single view approach appears in both hosts.

I guess everyone has their unique feature/s that sway their decision one way or another for a particular host.
