Interesting. Has this product been discontinued? I cannot seem to locate it on Ampeg's website.
No it's there. It's not possible direct linking.

BTW, X-gear shows in my account already.

Weird, when I try to look up the retailers that have it, both SameDay and Zzsounds mention it as discontinued.

Under Vista, presets are saved to C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\IK Multimedia\AmpliTube X-GEAR\Presets

This is some kind of UAC "feature" that "protects" your computer from improperly written unsecure programs. So if you save a preset and then go looking for the physical file, it will not be found where it you think it should be. It is very annoying. I hate Vista. But regardless, perhaps IKMM needs to fix something so presets are saved to the real program directory, instead of Vista's version of quarantine.

Hmmm...weird. You would think they would automate the addition of the download to user's accounts.

Did you shoot em off an email?
Gots my X-Gear Love :D
Play what you feel and feel what you play.

LOL!

I was reading your DI thread a couple of minutes ago.

How did you end up connecting it to the Emu? through the XLR Line level input? or the Mic level (which would be too hot)?
XLR.

For all the shit IK received about X-Gear being a late release, I'm amazed this thread isn't more active with people that have had a chance to use it.

I guess they might just be busy playing with the new toy. :D
Peace, my friends. I'm not seeking arguments here. ;)

I guess firstly the polite thing to say would be thank you.
However that is the most inane way of doing midi learn in any program I own. Haven't they heard about right click over a parameter? All other programs that I own that have midi learn, you go to the parameter, right click choose midi learn and touch your midi controller and that's that.

Yeah, I agree. This is pretty lackluster. 16 automatable parameters? Even the non X-Gear versions of the software have every parameter controllable through another host. I'm going to have to stick with Usine for my MIDI control. It is nice to be able to use all the products in one interface, definitely, but the MIDI leaves a lot to be desired.

Completely agree with both of you.

I think that a right click on a control and learn type of approach is much more suited for MIDI controls then this limited slot type MIDI control. I have the bad feeling that they do NOT want to give you more control over the different params so they don't boycott their sales of the StompIO.

NI's GR3 nails this MIDI functionality perfectly. This is how it should be done IKMM. Please review your position and give us full MIDI control over all the parameters.

This is really a BIG letdown for a feature I was highly anticipating in the X-Gear

That and patch selection's kinda lame. Should be able to use the computer keyboard's up and down arrows or at least implement mouse scroll; preferably both.

Well in my OPINION your OPINION is balls. RevalverMKII kicks Amplitube's arse - Hendrix's too.
So, you agree with me? Balls are where the good stuff is, eh? That's where I keep mine. Many of my favorite life experiences have included them.

While I'm glad you agree with me, I'm also glad we've got choice! Maybe Amplitube works for me because of my guitar/audio interface combo. Some one with a totally different guitar may have a very different experience. That's why presets in any guitar software (or hardware) are a bit silly and at best a good starting point for your own sound.

Also, people have different hearing and taste. For example, I LOVE David Torn's playing but I often find his tone to be horrible. Does he hear it differently than I do, or does he like it differently than I do, or both? Just for kicks I think I'm going to do a poll on people's favorite amp sims.
